Hi there! I live here and was thinking of buffing up the page and putting some information in it... but first could someone tell me if the population data is reflective of Bando (Sashima and Iwai) or if this is reflective of data accumulated before the merger and therefore only reflective of Iwai...
Also, there are a handful of small villages that got clumped in... is the population figure reflective of that?
Thanks!Aabh (talk) 15:59, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello. Since the population date listed here is pretty old, I assume it is for Bandō pre-mergers. If you'd like to update it there are two main sources of population info: The city's website and Wikipedia Japan. Wikipedia Japan seems to think that the figures published on municipal websites are unreliable, so they are using estimated population figures compiled by each prefecture. I don't have an opinion on which is better, but in the case of my current town of residence, Ikata, Ehime, the town itself reports a population about 1,000 higher than the prefecture's estimate. -Amake (talk) 00:14, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I guess it's off to the Shiakusho for me (It's just down the street) with some pointed questions! :D Aabh (talk) 02:50, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
