edit- Can the "See also" be incorporated in the Recordings section? Asking expert Grimes2 first. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:46, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! After I merged the world premieres with the bio, there was only one Schubert recording left in the Repertoire section that wasn't Mozart. I commented it out, but it could also go to the Recordings.
- I don't like the "Mozart roles" (new title for Repertoire) much. I don't see any ref for Zerlina being special, - I see more Cherubino mentioned in sources ;)
- More lead please.
- More of the wonderful things the FAZ and the Bavarian State Opera say about her voice - tough to translate, and difficult to not sound "kitschig". These are notes to self also. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:00, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- I don't like the ref in the lead - that we can't see and that is not obviously focused on her much. Would others agree to take it away? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:02, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- "leading exponent of Mozart's operas worldwide" needs a reference. Or we have to rewrite that sentence. Grimes2 (talk) 18:39, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- I find it awfully general, - yes, of course, rephrase. "Worldwide" is far-fetched to misleading when her only appearances outside Europe were at the Met. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:32, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- looked done the next time I looked --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:48, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- She sang Zerlina very often (32x at Vienna State Opera). Grimes2 (talk) 19:16, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- ... where she sang Pamina 41 times ... - I think she was great in all those roles, - no need to single one out. That section looks like some person's original research or preference to me, and I think we could do without it it, now that all the roles also appear in context. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:32, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

- Can we perhaps place the "external video" among the other external links? This is the full opera, yes, a great document, but there's a long overture before Susanna sings her first note. I'd understand "external video" if it was a good (short) example of her performing. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:48, 12 February 2025 (UTC) - I'll go ahead and move it. Grimes2, could you perhaps move the recordings from the "Mozart" section to Recordings if not there already (Idomeneo), and then drop it? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:32, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- I was surprised when the reference to The Shawshank Redemption was added to the lead earlier. It's better now there's more there, but I still wonder if it really belongs.--PaulBetteridge (talk) 19:52, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- When I met the article, half of the lead was that little instance. It could go, if you ask me, but I wanted to be polite to the former editors. (Looking at the history I must confess that I introduced the word "worldwide" there in 2017. Sorry.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:17, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- You'll have to forgive me if the mechanical translation has misled me, but if "...Karl Böhm, probably the most important mentor of her career" is accurate, it might be worth reflecting --PaulBetteridge (talk) 20:03, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'm no friend of these "probably" things. Who said so? Böhm appears several times in the article, perhaps enough? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:18, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- An entirely reasonable conclusion--PaulBetteridge (talk) 20:55, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

- This sentence in the lead is a problem for me, but I'm not sure I completely understand its intent.
Based at Deutsche Oper Berlin, she was in demand internationally, also as a singer of Lied and concert, a profilic performer of Bach's church cantata cycle conducted by Karl Richter.
- Would: "Based at Deutsche Oper Berlin, she was also in demand internationally. Beyond opera, she was a singer of Lieder and other vocal repertoire. She made a recording of Bach's church cantata cycle conducted by Karl Richter." be an adequate version? I'm not sure it summarises the apparent breadth of her performance and recording. The cantata cycle is large, but is it important? Anyway, I think shorter sentences might help. I assume "profilic" is just a typo for prolific, but I'd lose it altogether. --PaulBetteridge (talk) 20:55, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- I fixed the typo - which you could have done ;) - Your short sentences don't get that with Lied also, she was heard internationally. She didn't make "a recording" but recorded 75 (of 200) cantatas with Richter alone, many additional ones with Peter Schreier, and more with other conductors, - it was a substantial part of her work, and underestimated. It should probably be in prose, but I am too tired right now. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:56, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Your revision did what I was trying to, thank you. --PaulBetteridge (talk) 07:35, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
