two things:
- A5/2 is no longer implemented in recent MS I think. (see the A5/2 page and I checked on my iPhone, A5/2 doesn't work)
- I think the authentication process can be encrypted by using the previous encryption get. During the ___location update request, the key sequence number is given and if it matches with the network they can use the previous session key.
Just a minor thing: According to 3GPP TS 05.01 V8.9.0 the guard period of 8,25 symbol time durations is at the end of a time slot. doesn't make a big difference unless you want to design a radio interface...
