Template:Digital clock and date/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Digital clock and date. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template does not put a working clock on your page. This template adds a clock that shows the time when the page was last updated (or re-cached) and will not update each minute. If you do want a clock that constantly updates, then go to your Preferences and enable the item: "Add a clock to the personal toolbar that displays the current time in UTC and provides a link to purge the current page" under Appearance.

• Copy and paste {{subst:Template:Digital clock and date}} to use this template.

• The clock must then be manually set to your local time, or another time of your choice, which is done per the following procedure:

1. Refer to the List of UTC time offsets article and find your geographic ___location

2. Edit the page where you have placed the clock, and where it states "offset=" within this template, enter the corresponding offset relative to your geographic ___location.

• For example, to set the clock to the time in New York City, set the offset parameter to -4.

3. If you live in an area where daylight saving time is observed, additional adjustments to the offset parameter may be necessary for the clock to match your time.
