This template tracks and uses Wikidata property:

• FIDE player ID (P1440) (see uses)

This template uses Lua: Module:EditAtWikidata (sandbox) Module:WikidataCheck (sandbox)

Template:FIDE displays an external link to a chess player's profile page at the official website of the International Chess Federation (French: Fédération Internationale des Échecs or FIDE). These pages include the player's FIDE ratings history, rating calculations and top 100 entries (2000–present). This template is intended for use in the external links section of an article.

Omit the ID to use the Wikidata property.
