Description

edit

{{fbicon|nation|variant|size=optional}}

Produces a flag icon to the wikilinked national football association article. The list of article titles of the national football associations is located at Template:Fba/list.

Parameters
  • nation – Use either the name of the nation or the three-letter country code as used by FIFA
  • variant (optional) – Specifies an alternate (historical) flag to use. This parameter is documented by the appropriate template in Category:Country data templates.
  • size (optional) – Can be used to change the flag icon size (use sparingly!)
  • old (optional) - When given a value (e.g. "yes"/"y"/"1"), will link to the country's former football association (only applies to Brunei and Kenya)

Examples

edit
  • {{fbaicon|Argentina}} → Argentina
  • {{fbaicon|ENG}} → England
  • {{fbaicon|Italy|1861}} → Italy
  • {{fbaicon|USA|1776}} → United States
  • {{fbaicon|Kenya}}{{fbaicon|Kenya|old=yes}} → KenyaKenya

Alternative to avoid Wikipedia's Post-expand include size limit

edit

Pages with many flag icons may come close to or exceed Wikipedia's Post-expand include size limit. In these cases consider using lua modules instead:

  • {{#invoke:flag|Fbaicon}} is a wrapper for Module:Flagg that can reduce the include size when invoked directly. For basic use, {{Fbaicon|country}} can be replaced with {{#invoke:flag|Fbaicon|country}}.
