Armoire Style is a women's clothing rental service that uses a monthly subscription model.[1] Founded by Ambika Singh in 2016 while she was attending MIT Sloan School of Business,[2] Armoire started as an exclusively online service. In June 2019, the company opened its first retail ___location in the Pioneer Square area of Seattle, as well as its second ___location in Kirkland in October 2019.[3] Branded as a "wardrobe as a service", Armoire uses machine-learning algorithms to generate custom closet recommendations for members. By matching user's preferences to the preferences of similar users, members are offered a curated selection of items to rent, in addition to the help of stylist.
Armoire Style is one of several companies renting women's clothing; competitors include Rent the Runway, Le Tote, The Ms. Collection, Gwynnie Bee and Armarium.
