Mareo Rodriguez (born 1981, Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican‑Colombian multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona, Spain. His work explores spirituality, nature, time, and transformation.

Early life and education

edit

Mareo Rodriguez (born Mario Rodríguez Echeverry) was raised in Medellín, Colombia, and moved to Barcelona in 2014. He earned a B.A. in Architecture from UPB, Medellín (2004), a Master's in Interior Design from ELISAVA, Barcelona (2007), and an MFA from UNA, Buenos Aires (2013).[1]

Artistic practice

edit

Mareo's work transforms natural landscapes into metaphysical and spiritual spaces. He investigates the relationship between physical matter and light, using painting, sculpture, installation, and digital media. His *Portals Series* highlights the wavy line motif, symbolizing natural cracks, rivers, or lightning, which represent separation, connection, and transformation.[2][3]
