Brian Sprague
Brian James Sprague (born July 15, 1984) is an American entrepreneur, media executive, and political candidate. He is the founder of several Texas-based music industry ventures, including the Texas Music Chart, Texas Country Today Radio, and the Texas Country Today Podcast. A U.S. Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Sprague launched a campaign in 2025 for the U.S. House of Representatives in Texas’s 12th congressional district, running as a Republican under the campaign banner BS4Texas.
Early Life and Education
Sprague was born in Loveland, Colorado, to Phillip F. Sprague and Linda J. Sprague (née Zimmerman). He is the youngest of three siblings. His early education began at Lincoln Elementary in Loveland, before his family relocated to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. There, he attended Westmoor Elementary, Bluffs Middle School, and Scottsbluff Senior High School. He later returned to Loveland, where he completed his diploma at Mountain View High School.
Military Career
Sprague enlisted in the United States Army Military Police on November 5, 2002. He began service at Fort Knox, Kentucky, with the 127th Military Police Detachment, serving as a patrol officer and later as a point man and shield man on the Special Reaction Team (SRT). He trained with the FBI, ATF, Kentucky State Police, and LAPD, and competed in multiple SWAT and military skill events, including the Military Olympics in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
He later served with the 55th MP Company at Camp Casey, South Korea, and with the 92nd MP Company in Hanau, Germany. From there, he deployed to Forward Operating Base Kalsu during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006–2008). He left the military in 2008.

Post-Military Career
After military service, Sprague returned to Colorado. He briefly pursued medical studies but ultimately earned an associate degree in Automotive Technology from Westwood College, graduating with Alpha Beta Kappa honors. He founded Peak Performance, a mobile auto repair and lift kit installation business, but back and shoulder injuries led him to pivot toward agriculture.
He later worked as a horse trainer and farm manager for Ann Judge, the rider and trainer of Thunder, the Denver Broncos mascot. During this period, he was instrumental in establishing the Ashley Doolittle Foundation and its memorial events.
Community Involvement
Sprague organized and led the development of the Ashley Doolittle Memorial Horse Show and Rodeo following the tragic death of the young equestrian in 2016. Initially intended as a one-time benefit, the event rapidly expanded. In an interview with CBS News Colorado, Sprague stated:
“It went from a horse show to a gala to help pay for the horse show and now, a two‑day rodeo… It was the most surreal thing I had ever experienced in my life,” said Sprague. “The horse community truly is a horse community. It’s such a small world for those of us who own horses here in Colorado.”
“It only took a month and Sprague managed to put together a horse show benefit. This year, he signed the check for a full-blown rodeo.”

The event continues to support domestic violence awareness and youth equestrian initiatives.

Sprague founded several enterprises within the Texas music scene, including:

Political Career
In August 2025, Sprague announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in Texas’s 12th congressional district, challenging Republican incumbent Craig Goldman. He attributes his decision to a spiritual calling he experienced while reflecting on political content online. As a result, he gave away all his business holdings to focus full-time on public service.
A devout Republican, Sprague has stated that he has never voted outside the Republican Party and views his campaign as a return to "principled, working-class conservatism." While supportive of Donald Trump’s trade and tariff policies, he is sharply critical of what he characterizes as congressional complacency and corruption across both parties.
Sprague’s platform centers on:
Government transparency
Anti-corruption legislation
Protectionist trade reform
Term limits for Congress
Pro-worker industrial policy
Veterans' services expansion
Bilingual outreach to underrepresented communities
Operating under the banner BS4Texas, Sprague has emphasized community-level engagement, door-to-door contact, rural outreach, and a focus on exposing congressional backroom deals. His stated goal is to “lock in good trade policy for 10 lifetimes” and “shine sunlight on every grubby backroom deal that trades American jobs for campaign donations.”
Personal Life
Sprague is a practicing Catholic and the father of four children. Two of his children were born during his military deployments; his daughter Alexis was born while he was stationed in Iraq. He currently raises his youngest son in Texas, while the child’s mother is facing criminal charges related to abuse and homicide.
Sprague has spoken publicly about his post-service struggles with PTSD and reintegration, citing these experiences as foundational to his political and community mission.
