The Wole Soyinka lecture is an annual series of lectures instituted by the National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) in honor of Professor Wole Soyinka, the first African winner of the Nobel prize in Literature. It aims to promote good governance, social justice and democratic ideals in Nigeria and beyond.[1]

There has been 17 lectures to date, with the inaugural holding on the 20th of March, 1994 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria.
