Just Like Us is a London-based LGBT+ educational charity that works across both primary and secondary schools in the United Kingdom. Founded by Tim Ramsey MBE in 2016[1][2][3], the charity is known for hosting the annual School Diversity Week, a week in pride month to "celebrate LGBT+ equality in education" and "challenge homophobia, biphobia and transphobia with fun and inclusive events."[4] Additionally, Just Like Us provides free resources and training for teachers (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund[5]) so that secondary schools can create their own pride groups.[6][7]
Just Like Us volunteers (called ambassadors) are LGBT+ young people aged 18-25 years old who are trained to deliver school talks on what it is like to grow up LGBT+.
Awards and recognition
editJust Like Us won the Grassroots or Charity Organisation of the Year award at the 2025 Metro Pride Awards.[8] The charity was credited with having had “a profound impact on the LGBTQ+ community” and bringing “meaningful change for LGBTQ+ people”.[9]
