On Wikipedia, tone indicators are a little-used but very important form of communication that lets a user know how your message or reply should be taken or read as. For reasons I do not know, tone indicators are very rarely used, although with this essay I'm hoping to change that in a way by making more people aware of what they are and their benefits.
