Rarely necessary, this template may be used to generate the words, "this article", and should be used exclusively in articles talking about themselves when a selfref issue applies, such as an article about Wikipedia history which may talk about the article itself.

Usage

Parameters

There are two optional parameters:

  • |cap= – if present, emits a capital 'T' on the word This
  • |1= – alters the wording to whatever you specify (alias: |text=; default: "this article")

Notes

This template tags the words "this article" (or whatever you specify in param 1) as an inline self reference when the article is viewed at Wikipedia. Anywhere else, the words "the Wikipedia article" are emitted.
