edit

A trooper arrives at a maid's house, and the two spend the night together. In the morning, he is summoned away from her, and she follows him, asking when the two will be able to meet again. He replies that they will meet "When rashin rinds grow gay gowd rings," "When cockle-shells grow siller bells," and/or at other impossible future times.[1]
