Article title - Women's Rights Movements in Afghanistan (does not exist)
Article Evaluation
Considering there is no Wikipedia page on women's rights and their evolution in Afghanistan this is a topic that has evidently not been covered well. Afghanistan has served as a literal and metaphorical battleground for half a century, subject to numerous invasions and occupations by Western powers. The American invasion in 2001 particularly brought the women's rights conversation into the spotlight, as Bush's invasion was seen as 'liberating' to Afghan women. The outside feminist influences on Afghani politics, coupled with the true interior resistance of Afghani women, is an issue with a rich history that is still unfolding today as the Taliban reclaims their rule over the nation.

Article title - Violence Against Women Act (already exists)
Article Evaluation
The Violence Against Women Act served as a major piece towards addressing sexual and domestic violence as a national issue and creating a massive remedy for it. The skeleton of the law is still in use today and is the backbone of fighting sexual harassment in the workplace and other places, an issue that disproportionately claims women victims. Looking at the article, citations are lacking with regards to the grassroots movement in the 1980's and 1990's that sparked the passage of this act, and how the act was actually acted out at the federal, state and local levels. The latter seems to be of the utmost importance as it can offer a glimpse into how provisions were carried out and who had control over these processes.

Article title - Period Poverty (does not exist)
Article Evaluation
Access to menstrual products is a key element of women's political mobilization and their personal lives, as well as the intersection between those two. "Period poverty" is a term used to describe the disproportionate lack of access that some women in the US have to good-quality menstrual products. This has far-reaching effects on women's hygeine and thus their overall health. While I knew that this issue existed I did not know there was a term for it and am not very educated on its consequences. A baseline Wikipedia article outlining some statistics and efforts to fight for legislation on this issue in the American context would go a long way on educating both women and men on this issue.
