Limelight Cinemas Pty Ltd is an Australian cinema chain. As of 2025, it operates multiplex cinemas in Canberra and Brisbane.

History

Months after a Hoyts cinema in the same area closed down, Limelight Cinemas Pty Ltd opened their first cinema in Tuggeranong on December 26, 2009.^[1]

On November 21, 2013, Limelight opened a cinema in Ipswich.^[2]

On December 22, 2022, Limelight opened their second Brisbane cinema, located in Morayfield.^[3]

Gold

Gold (formerly known as The Lounge), a luxury cinema format, is provided at a number of Limelight Cinemas locations in Australia.^[5] Gold cinemas include buttered refreshments, à la carte menu offerings and reclining seats.

XD

XD cinemas feature enhanced film display, picture quality, and digital sound.

Plus

Plus cinemas are currently only found in Limelight's flagship Tuggeranong cinema.
