Jayson Oyarekhua (born October 22, 1972) is a Nigerian entrepreneur and business executive. He is the co-founder and director of The Hub Terminus Limited, a logistics and e-commerce company based in Nigeria. With over two decades of experience, Oyarekhua has held several leadership roles in the fields of technology, e-commerce, logistics, and corporate management.
Early life and education
editOyarekhua was born on October 22, 1972, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He hails from Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area, Auchi, Edo State, and was raised alongside four siblings.[
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. He also completed executive education programs at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford; the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; and Lagos Business School. Additionally, he underwent training at the FedEx Purple Academy in Dubai and studied Air Transportation and Management at the University of California and the University of Westminster.
Career
editFedEx Red Star Express Plc (2001–2022)
editOyarekhua began his career in 2001 at FedEx Red Star Express Plc as an Export Coordinator, where he was responsible for logistics operations and warehouse supervision.[citation needed] He was later promoted to several roles within the organization:
- Station Head (2003–2006): Managed station operations and oversaw service delivery.
- Key Accounts Manager (2007–2010): Handled major client relationships and contributed to business development.
- Regional Manager (2011–2015): Directed multi-state operations and implemented revenue growth strategies.
- Head of Projects and New Ventures (2016–2017): Led strategic planning and product development. In this role, he was instrumental in the development of the "Saddle" application, a logistics management tool designed to streamline pay-on-delivery transactions for e-commerce businesses.[1]
- Chief Operating Officer (2017–2022): Oversaw national operations, regulatory compliance, and innovation initiatives. He also served as COO of RS Allied Solutions, a subsidiary of Red Star Express Plc.[2]
The Hub Terminus Limited (2022–present)
editIn 2022, Oyarekhua co-founded The Hub Terminus Limited, a company focused on logistics, e-commerce, and order fulfillment. As Director, he leads the company's strategic direction, technology integration, and operations management. The company aims to provide seamless order fulfillment solutions to enhance the scalability of SMEs across Nigeria and globally.[3]
William Bamah Development Initiative
editOyarekhua is the founder and Executive Chairman of the William Bamah Development Initiative, a non-profit organization established in honor of his father. The initiative is involved in community development and empowerment projects across Nigeria.[citation needed]
