Brandon Bauer is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Wisconsin. His work explores themes of social justice, democracy, and war.[1] [Paper Politics Book]

Teaching

He is an Assistant Professor of Art at [2] teaching photography and digital media course, as well as courses about the intersection of art technology and society. His work has been published in peer reviewed publications such as Pool, Drain, Array, and FATE (Foundations in Art Theory and Education). He also teaches in the Honors program at St. Norbert College.

Art

Bauer has exhibited and screened his work widely. He has been referred to as a “fellow-traveler” [1] of the Justseeds Artists' Cooperative [2], and has participated in several of their projects, including the Voices From Outside: Artists Against the Prison Industrial Complex (with Critical Resistance, print portfolio, 2008) [link to portfolio] His work is in the collections of the center for the study of political graphics, the Oakland museum of California, The wriston print study collection and his video work has beenscreened in the Experiments in cinema festival, and his video work has been produced on DVD by the Paris based video art label Lowave. His short video “A short and incomplete history of experimental film and video was a Best of Fest winner for the 21st annual Dallas Video Festival and was part of the festival’s multi-city tour
