Akshat Kumar

Akshat Kumar (born July 14, 2003) is an Indian data science graduate and aspiring professional in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. Born in Allahabad and raised predominantly in Kanpur, Kumar is recognized for his academic achievements, research contributions, and participation in hackathons during his undergraduate studies.

Early Life and Education

Akshat Kumar was born in Allahabad (now Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh, India, to a Hindu Kayastha family. He spent most of his life in Kanpur, where his family emphasized the importance of education and personal growth. His grandfather, Santosh Kumar Srivastava, was a PCS officer who retired as the Director of Employment Exchange, Uttar Pradesh. Kumar’s father, Sunil Kumar, instilled in him a deep understanding of finance and politics, while his late mother, Sulbha S. Kumar, played a pivotal role in shaping his independence and values.

Kumar pursued his early education at several schools, including Little Hearts Prep School and Chintels School in Kanpur, before transitioning between schools in Kanpur and Allahabad. He completed his high school education at Delhi Public School, Barra, Kanpur, where he excelled in academics, securing 95.6% in Class 10 and 98% in Class 12 (PCM).

In 2021, Kumar joined Bennett University, Greater Noida, to pursue a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Data Science. He graduated in 2025 with a CGPA of 8.7.

Career

Kumar began his professional career at Vensure Employer Solutions, Noida, as a System Support Intern in September 2024. His performance earned him a promotion to System Support Associate in January 2025.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Kumar has made contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, authoring two research papers on network intrusion detection systems, which were published in Elsevier. He has also completed three virtual internships, further solidifying his expertise in data analytics and AI/ML.

Ranked in the top 10 in Kanpur in the Class 12 CBSE board examination.
Won two hackathons and placed third in another during his undergraduate studies.
Qualified for the GATE 2024 examination with an AIR of 4078.

Personal Life

Akshat Kumar's life in Kanpur deeply influenced his perspectives and values. Despite facing personal challenges, including the loss of his mother in 2023, his family’s unwavering support shaped his outlook on resilience and open-mindedness. He has a keen interest in cricket, geopolitics, mythology, spirituality, and reading.

Kumar also attributes his growth to his parents' teachings, emphasizing critical thinking, empathy, and maintaining an open mind.
