Hi all—I've recently added a new section titled "Usage Across Media" to clarify how the term ground functions differently in various artistic disciplines (e.g., painting, drawing, silverpoint, and intaglio printmaking). The intent is to prevent confusion between the traditional preparatory ground used in painting and the temporary resist layer used in etching. These terms are often conflated, so the new section aims to make the distinctions clearer for general readers and editors.

I've also linked to relevant sections in the Etching article and cited sources (National Portrait Gallery, Metropolitan Museum, etc.) where appropriate. Feedback and refinements welcome!
