The A7 citeria states that "the criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines." Hence an article does not have to meet a notability standard to avoid speedy and in my mind this article does meet the lower standard of making a "credible claim of significance" and so should avoid speedy. Whether it would survive WP:AfD is another matter but given the low standards we apply to footballers my personal opinion is that it should as although not meeting the guidelines I'd say playing for your national team (even in a friendly) is at least as significant as playing in some fully professional leagues. Given the number of results google news and google are returning (unfortunately mostly in French) it is also possible that they may meet our general notability guidelines. I do not think that I have been involved in this one. I have no reason to doubt you, but you should post at WP:AIV.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 12:48, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

My apologies. He actually created the article twice, using different captalisations, and I only saw one initially. But going to WP:AIV is still correct. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 12:55, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
Make it easy for me - which account name is he now using? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 12:56, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi, that was an excellent catch about the different calendars. However, I've also Googled etc and am having trouble proving notability. Do you know anything about this writer? I don't mind copyediting the user's stuff but do not want to waste my time if it is going to fail WP:N. Thanks - Sitush (talk) 17:06, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

It suffered speedy delete as a blatant hoax. A bit harsh, perhaps, but I really don't see how it could have been much improved on, other than date fixing. The subject is allegedly a modern author so one would have expected to find *some* references to the person on Google, even allowing for the confusing issues of how names such as this one get mangled in Western script. Thanks for your reply to my above query, though - I thought I was going mad for a minute! - Sitush (talk) 14:50, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Semi-pro football discussions need feedback

Hello! You have participated in WP:AFD disucssions involving semi-pro football teams in the past. The following two AFD discussions could use additional weigh-in as they appear to be stuck in "relisting" mode:

I am placing this notice on talk pages of users who have shown interest in the past, regardless of how they !voted in the discussion. If you do participate, please mention that you were asked to participate in the discussion.--Paul McDonald (talk) 22:00, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Born Fresh Entry Response

Hello, I was contacted by a listener/supporter of my album Born Fresh because he is having difficulty posting a wiki page for my project. Was fairly shocked to see the open bashing, but always welcome contrasting views... firstly, you all make very valid points about my notoriety and notability. To date; I am not signed to a major label, have yet to had national press coverage and or broke into a global spotlight in any "major" way. None of this (mind you) has stopped our project from topping a (top 5 largest: Amazon)international sales chart or qualifying our page for a place on wikipedia; whether we ever accomplish those other standards or not. Now... you may see a lack of an article telling you what a "live" (up to the hour) chart is displaying in real time, but I feel that your attitude toward this Top 10 (peaked at #1 and is currently, 6 months later, #7out of 100,794 hip hop albums)debut album is not at all justified or acceptable. Please consider accomplishing such a feat as a result of hard work, dedication, and high quality standards while attacking its very existence. Sound (music) takes time to travel without money fueling it, and this has yet to stop our successes under such constricting circumstances. Please do not consider this article as a level of achievement that I earn by pleasing your personal standards, but allow the guidelines (#2, which has been met) to certify our presence in the world... I assure you; google me, I exist, so does my album. ps Im glad my name makes you think of mouthwash, thats what i was going for. 65.29.85.135 (talk) 20:22, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Jason Charles - Elemint

Thanks about that

Okay got it. Thanks alot. By the way, I'm not sure if this page should be tagged, but here:

Maybe a proposed deletion in 10 days if no refrences come in? Kamkek (talk) 19:45, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

A bit help needed

Thanks for your response on my article. Well as you know, I've found that the "Bobi Mojsoski" article is scheduled for deletion. I don't find any reason why it should be deleted...you have given me an advice to refer to some reliable sources (references). Well I have already posted official links of this musician's pages on Myspace, Youtube, ReverbNation and Facebook where the same information written on Wikipedia can be found there. I sincerely hope this article won't be deleted...asking for an advice...thanks again OhManagerPress (talk) 20:44, 11 February 2011 (UTC)OhManagerPress

Duplicate article

Well going through the archives, I just found 2 of the same articles. (Both have very few links as well and no cats)

Here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Grzegorz_Pi%C4%85tek&redirect=no&rcid=425038514 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Grzegorz_Piatek&redirect=no&rcid=425037949

I'm unsure about what to do with these.

Kamkek (talk) 21:16, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

What I'd do is to blank the one without the ą (the little hook under the a) and put #REDIRECT [[Grzegorz Piątek]] instead. This gives a chance for people typing in English rather than Polish to find it, and gets rid of the duplication (but preserves the editing history...). (The histories are actually different.) It connects the two then, so that if it gets chopped, there isn't still a copy lurking. Someone has tagged them both without doing anything about the duplication - they might be a technical editor rather than a procedural one. (Someone more interested in the content than in the why and wherefore of its existence. Peridon (talk) 21:25, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Another way is to use {{db-same|whateveritsnameis}} with the name of the one you want kept inserted in the obvious place. That gets rid of one. In this case, I'd redirect, because of that little hook. Peridon (talk) 21:29, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

A couple troublemakers

Yeah thanks, someone got mad one time yesterday when I put a speedy on some Indosian I've never heard of saying on his talk page "I don't need snobish people" Considering the guy just said on his page "A national hero" and I know nothing about there history.... Eventully he added stuff though.

Article that started with a hangon tag

Here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Azuero_Earth_Project&redirect=no&rcid=426666812

It has nothing other then a hang on tag that they put. So what should be done with it?Kamkek (talk) 22:03, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)You can tag it A3. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 23:04, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

I did read it. Seeing as it was about Oxfordshire, I cat'ed it under it. Sorry if it caused any confusion. :)

Alright cheers. After a quick Google search I couldn't find a "contemporary number", all that came up were music charts in the US. Crystal Linux Talk to Crystal Linux... 15:09, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
I use Twinkle, so it does that for me automatically. Crystal Linux Talk to Crystal Linux... 15:43, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

inre Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Frontier Boys

The Frontier Boys is now looking better... enough independent secondary sources to push at WP:GNG and not too bad for an indie film that only just had its premiere. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:18, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
