Merged: May 2009 Pepsi Center double-booking controversy —Project As part of the project's New Year's Reolutions, there is an ongoing effort to decrease the number of stubs to 10%. As of June 7, we are at 11.76%, with 488 articles currently in Category:Stub-Class Professional wrestling articles. It still would be greatly appreciated if members would expand, source and improve stub articles, and a list has been placed on the stub article subpage of stub articles of well-known wrestlers and tag teams that should be fairly easy to improve. Based on the members list, there are currently 222 members participating in WikiProject Professional wrestling. Events Calendar This section is intended to warn users about potential targets of vandalism and speculation: professional wrestling events from major promotions for the month of June. 7 - World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) presents Extreme Rules 12 - Ring of Honor (ROH) presents Take No Prisoners 21 - Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) presents Slammiversary 28 - WWE presents The Bash Recent Professional Wrestling News At Sacrifice on May 24, Sting defeated Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, and Kurt Angle in an Ultimate Sacrifice match by pinning Angle, which meant that he took over Angle's position as the leader of The Main Event Mafia. Mr. Kennedy made his return to WWE television on the May 25 episode of Raw, but was released four days later on May 29. On May 26, Ephesto defeated Rey Bucanero to win the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship, after Bucanero suffered a legitimate knee injury. On May 28: John Tolos died in Los Angeles aged 78. Lisa Marie Varon made her TNA debut, and Shane Douglas and Raven returned to TNA. On June 1: WWE, THQ, and Yuke's announced that the development of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 had started. On WWE Raw: Kofi Kingston won the WWE United States Championship by defeating defending champion Montel Vontavious Porter. On June 2, Samoa Joe was diagnosed with a torn triceps and broken fingers. On May 5, it was announced that WWE had released developmental talents Dakota Darsow, Jon Cutler, and Lupe Santiago. On May 6: It was announced that WWE had also released developmental wrestler Kafu. Combat Zone Wrestling wrestler Nick Gage was injured in a match after taking a bump onto a light tube, suffering a severed artery and being airflifted to hospital. Please help by adding sources or expanding any articles listed here. Be aware of words to avoid. Certain words, if chosen poorly, can subtly promote a point of view. I know you removed the help request (twice), but I thought I'd take a look anyway.

Please help out with fixing any of the problems listed, and removing them from the list. Events Calendar This section is intended to warn users about potential targets of vandalism and speculation: professional wrestling events from major promotions for the month of June. 21 - Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) presents Slammiversary 28 - World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) presents The Bash Recent Professional Wrestling News At WWE's Extreme Rules pay-per-view on June 7: Chris Jericho won the WWE Intercontinental Championship for a record ninth time by defeating Rey Mysterio in a No Holds Barred match. Tommy Dreamer won the ECW Championship by defeating the defending champion Christian and Jack Swagger in a Triple Threat Hardcore match. Batista won the WWE Championship by defeating Randy Orton in a steel cage match. Jeff Hardy defeated World Heavyweight Champion Edge in a Ladder match to win the title. Following the Ladder match, CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Hardy to win the World Heavyweight Championship. On June 8: "Umaga" Eddie Fatu was released from his WWE contract for violating the WWE Wellness Program, and refusing to seek drug rehabilitation. On WWE Raw: Vickie Guerrero quit WWE, and thus, her position as the Raw brand's General Manager. Triple H returned to WWE television after a two-month hiatus. On June 9, WWE reported that Batista had suffered a complete torn left bicep. He underwent surgery to repair it the followingday, and is expected to have at least four months of rehabilitation. On June 13: Mitsuharu Misawa died at the age of 46, after becoming unconscious in the ring while wrestling during a Pro Wrestling Noah live event. Austin Aries defeated Jerry Lynn to win the ROH World Championship, making Aries the only person to hold the title more than once. At AAA's Triplemania XVII pay-per-view : Extreme Tiger defeated Alex Koslov, Crazy Boy and Alan Stone in a Four-Way Elimination Hardcore match for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. Dr. Wagner, Jr. defeated El Mesias for the AAA World Heavyweight Championship. Gerald Brisco suffered a series of strokes before and during June 13 and 14, and is scheduled for surgery. On June 14: Jun Akiyama vacated Pro Wrestling Noah's GHC Heavyweight Championship due to being diagnosed with spinal disc herniation in his lower back. Go Shiozaki defeated Takeshi Rikio to win the vacant GHC Heavyweight Championship. On June 15 Referee Ted Tanabe died at the age of 46, after suffering a heart attack in the ring the previous night while officiating a match at a live event for Osaka Pro Wrestling. On Raw: Randy Orton defeated Big Show, John Cena, and Triple H in a Fatal-Four Way match to win the WWE Championship. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced Donald Trump as the new scripted owner of the Raw franchise. On June 17, Dos Caras, Jr. confirmed that he signed a three-year contract with WWE. On June 19, WWE released Candice Michelle and Jimmy Reiher, Jr. (Sim Snuka). On June 20, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Manabu Nakanishi in Osaka, Japan to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Editing Tips This is a section in the newsletter devoted to help familiarize project members with the Manual of Style and general editing tips. If you come across an article that fails notability requirements, tou can tag it for speedy deletion if the criteria apply, propose it for deletion, or nominate it at WP:AFD. Do not give undue weight to recent events in articles. If making a controversial change, or one that will affect a wide range of article, please gain consensus from the project first. Avoid adding statements that will date quickly, for example "soon" and "now". Avoid using dirtsheets as sources. Adhere to WP:RS when adding information with a source to articles.
