Get ready

  •  Ytest election on enwiki - mainly so the scrutineers can practice. in AELECT2, they gave feedback that this was a big reason for their speed.
  •  Yask someone to duplicate and update all subpages
  •  Ywatchlist all subpages, except for candidate pages (I'll track those with RelatedChanges to keep them from clogging up my watchlist)
  •  Yask for 2 admins to volunteer as discussion phase monitors. list them on the election page, in the discussion phase section
  •  Yask someone to test the candidate signup process. make sure the instructions make sense, the templates work, etc.
  •  Ynotifications about schedule and plans via
  •  YExtended confirmed protect the call for candidates page, to discourage folks that don't qualify

Call for candidates

  •  YTODO next year: convert the candidates page to use {{Show by date}} and {{Bots|deny=AnomieBOT}}. see discussion page's history for an example. you can configure it to do everything automatically, without having to be around at 0:00 UTC to manually change things. note that a purge is needed though
  •  YNote: folks create their own candidacy pages
    •  Ystep 1 create a candidacy page using the <inputbox> on the call for candidates page
    •  Ystep 2 add themselves to the candidates list

  •  Ymake sure Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Discussion phase transcludes each subpage. example. regex. comment it out using HTML comments until the discussion phase starts.
  •  Yadd the candidates to Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/List of candidate pages. just add a bulleted list with wikilinks. example. regex.
  •  Ymake sure the related changes link on the discussion page works
  •  Yredirect each candidate RFA page to point at the AELECT subpage

Discussion phase

  •  Ynote: The discussion page uses the {{Show by date}} template to show and hide things automatically. You only need to make sure it is configured correctly.

Final hour of the discussion phase

  •  Yupdate voting phase page, including inserting the SecurePoll link.
  •  Ymake sure SecurePoll is fully configured and ready to go (voter roll added, translation messages added)
    •  Ycheck translations. make sure the candidate list is accurate
    •  Ycheck voter eligibility. make sure the voter roll is uploaded and that other options are configured correctly
    •  Ythe poll is configured to open 10 minutes early. do some tests using main account, bot account, non-XC account

Voting phase

  •  Ynote: candidate pages will automatically be hatted at the correct time thanks to a template

  •  Yscroll through all the subst'd candidate pages on the discussion page, and make sure the {{Abot}} is in the right place. if not, not all of the candidate page will be marked as closed

Post voting

Post scrutineering
