Tapout is an American Mixed Martial Arts clothing and merchandise company, founded by three men known as "Mask" who commonly wears face paint and crazy hats, "Punkass" who wears a bandana lowered over his eyebrows to signafy that he is tough, and "Skyskrape" who often wears afro wigs and stunner shades and wacky outfits. Tapout clothing, such as T-shirts, gym shorts, and fighting gloves are worn by several MMA stars. It is widely reported in the mixed martial arts community that the three founders Mask, Punkass, and Skyskrape are homosexual, due to their love for fashion, crazy outfits and personalities, and their desired field of business MMA, which, although entertaining, is full of sweaty men rolling around with eachother, which is cause for some mixed martial artists to avoid doing business with them so as to not tarnish their image.

Nyboder

Nyboder is situated close to the train station Østerport in the Østerbro District of Copenhagen, Denmark. The buildings where built under order of king Christian the 4th in 1631.

Nyboder as it stands today

The main reason for this step was the increasing need of housing for inlisted men of the Royal Danish Navy and their families. The first of a total of 20 houses were finished in 1631 on plots of land outside Copenhagen purchased by the king. In total more than 200 apartments were fittet within the 20 buildings. The buildings have changed colour a number of times since the completion in 1641, ranging from the national colours of Denmark (red and white) to the reddish yellow colour that ordane the walls today.

To this day, the buildings still house enlisted personnel of the army, airforce and navy. Priority of enlisted personnel was stopped in 2006 and the apartments are now not only a tourist attraction but also seen as upscale accomodation among people living in Copenhagen.

Not much is known about this amazing person besides the fact that he was born in 1992 and is possibly the greatest human being to ever walk this Earth. Although recent evidence shows that his favorite food is pizza, he likes music, plays the piano, and enjoys spring-time out of all the seasons due to its temperature of around 70 degrees. He has friends and likes his dog. Hopefully Corey Good will live forever so his amazingness can benefit mankind.

{{Infobox NBA Player}} Nick Stamos, born July 4, 1954 in Walla Walla, Washington, serves as Vice President of Campus Operations at Dickinson College, in Carlisle Pennsylviania. Stamos lives in Harrisburg with his two Alaskan malamutes, Chester and Foxhound.

Stams was born and raised in a log cabin. His parents were not poor, but wanted young Nick to grow up to be the next Abraham Lincoln. At age 16, he won his high school's national intramural handball tournament. At age 18, he was linked to the notorious handball doping allegations that were commonplace in the early 1970s.

In a historic event for both men, Stamos met future Dickinson College President Bill Durden at a Harvard State beer-pong tournament. The two instantly recognized the leadership potential in eachother. From there, Stamos opened an unsuccessful pizzeria in Pittsburg, Pa. Stamos claims his pizzeria was the inspiration for Spike Lee's hit movie, Do the Right Thing.

== The Rebellious Years ==

Stamos tried out to impersonate John Travolta's character from Saturday Night Fever. But was told, "No one from Walla Walla Washington, will ever make it big in this crazy world." This threw Stamos into a five year depression in which he binged on drugs, sex and country music.

In 1980, Bill Durden found Stamos on a street corner in Harrisburg Pa., drinking raw sewage from a drainage pipe. On the spot, Durden hired him a fashion consultant. Historians credit Stamos with turning Durden onto the classic owl-eye-shaped glasses he wears to thsi day.

Durden was knighted as Dickinson's President in a blood-filled ceremony in early 1998. As President, his first decision was to hire Stamos as a member of Dickinson's staff. "Nick did an exceptional job picking my owl-eye-shaped glasses, so I figured, if he can make my face look so delectable, what could he do with a small slice of Carlisle's beautiful grounds."

Stamos briefly dated Miss Pennsylvania 1979. However, the relationshipo ended when it was discoverd that Miss Penn. was an undercover spy for Saddam Hussein. After this discovery, Stamos took to beer-pong as his only comfort and joy in life.

FOr 17 straight years, Stamos and Durden have won the Dickinson faculty and administration beer-pong-apoolza tournament.

One of Stamos's favorite quotes is "With great power comes great responsibility." The quote is from Spiderman, his favorite movie, which he forces his dogs to watch every Christmas. The Central Pennsylvania Animal Rights League has investigated Stamos several times. But, Stamos has deftly called upon his clout as vice president of campus operations at the American college known for providing the finest sophomore year housing to undergraduates, to exonerate him of any wrong-doing.

Sit On It And Swivel is an original "broadway style" gay musical comedy cabaret. It was created in the mid 1980s in Cincinnati Ohio by Scott McLarty and Michael Waldron. The show toured many cities in the midwest, performing mostly in gay nightclubs.

The story features 5 stereotyped characters (a drag queen, a leatherman, a preppy, a closeted businessman, and a straight woman) who all meet one night in a gay bar while searching for a partner.

The strength of the musical lies in its songs, where each character pleads his case to find a mate. By the end of the musical 4 have paired off while one is left alone.

An original cast recording was made, and cassette copies were sold at each performance.

In the late 1990s one of these "well worn and listened to" cassettes was digitized and compressed into 14 MP3 files. Permission was given by the rights holder Scott McLarty to share the songs on the internet, and with the help of the first version of Napster, copies of the songs began to spread rapidly. Once the original Napster was shut down, awareness of the musical declined.

An independent website (www.sitonitandswivel.com) provides information about the musical.

The website also provides high speed access to free MP3 downloads of the original cast recording.

The website www.sitonitandswivel.com contains a scanned image of a Cincinnati Magazine article reviewing the play after it was performed in a local theater festival. In 1985 or 1986, the Cincinnati Enquirer or Post also reported on the play while it was performing at a local gay nightclub called "The Metro", but a copy of that article is NOT on the website.

More than 20 years ago in November1983 the US-FDA approved Etoposide (ex Bristol-Myers, now Bristol-Myers Squibb Corp.) and Cyclosporine A (ex Sandoz, now Novartis Corp.). These two drugs subsequently turned out to be scientifically, clinically and economically of great importance in cancer and immunology.

What is less known however is that the individual behind the original discovery of the biological activity of etoposide (discovered October 21,1966) and cyclosporine A (discovered January 31,1972) was the doctor-scientist Hartmann F. Stähelin, M.D. - a Swiss pharmacologist with an outstanding record in basic and applied cancer and immunology research.

Hartmann F. Stähelin was born on October 20,1925. Both his parents were medical doctors and distantly related members of an old Basel family dating back to 1520. After preparatory school and a classical education with the emphasis on greek and latin Hartmann Stähelin studied medicine in Basel, Zürich and Florence (1944-1950). His first position after graduation was at the Institute of Microbiology of the University of Basel (1951-1954) where he investigated the morphology and sporulation of anthrax bacilli with the help of the then new phase contrast microscope. In May 1951 Stähelin was first to observe naked bacterial protoplasts of anthrax bacilli - called gymnoplasts - which left behind their empty cell walls. A year later during his studies of their osmotic behavior he discovered and described the occasional fusion of naked protoplasts (H. Stähelin, "Osmotic behavior and fusion of naked protoplasts of B.anthracis" Schweiz.Z.Path.Bact 17, 296-310,1954). This paper written in German immediately caught the attention of the bacterial geneticist Joshua Lederberg who personally requested this seminal paper.

In 1954 Stähelin applied successfully for a 12 months postdoctoral fellowship sponsored by the Swiss National Foundation (SNF) to work on a project on phagocytosis inspired by Emanuel Suter ( later2nd Dean of the University of Florida Medical School). In 1955 Stähelin rediscovered in Manfred L.Karnovsky's laboratory at the Department of Bacteriology and Immunology, Harvard Medical School, Boston the respiratory burst in leucocytes (H.Stähelin, E.Suter, M.L. Karnovsky J, "Studies on the interaction between phagocytes and tubercle bacilli" Exp.Med. 104,121-136 & 137-150, 1956; 105,265-277,1957). His experiments stirred the interest of Karnovsky who was at the time unaware of this metabolic phenomenon originally described more than twenty years before by C.W.Baldridge and R.W.Gerard in 1933. Stähelin's elegant work subsequently paved the way for the famous investigations of Sbarra & Karnovsky on the role of oxygen in the defense against microorganisms ( J.Biol.Chem. 234:1355-62,1959; see: refs. related to Stähelin's work in: ISI-citation classic CC/27:25-25,July 4,1983 ). While at Boston the biomedical talent of the 27 years old medical scientist was spotted by the director of the pharmacology department of the Sandoz Corp. Basel, who visited Prof. Emanuel Suter's Laboratory at Harvard Medical School. After a 6-month training in the state of the art tissue culture techniques in Prof. John F. Enders' laboratory in Boston - sponsored by Sandoz - Stähelin joined its Pharmacology Department in Basel to head the newly created laboratory, then a research group working on cancer and immunology (1955 - 1979).

Stähelin quickly assumed the leading role in the discovery and development of Podophyllum compounds - four of them including etoposide (Vepesid) were introduced to the market. He was able to detect in a partially purified, chemically modified extract of the podophyllum plant, the presence of a then unknown qualitatively and quantitatively very interesting agent which was first considered by the chemists as "dirt". Upon his report of that finding the chemists under the direction of A. von Wartburg analysed this impurity and found guided by Stählelin's in-vitro and in-vivo assays (H.Stähelin."A simple quantitative test for cytostatic agents using non-adhering cells in vitro." Med.Exp.7, 92-102,1962 ) the active compound responsible for the good antitumor activity of SP-G (ProresidR oral) and SP-I (ProresidR intravenous, discovered in April 1959, commercialized 1963) (H.Stähelin & A.Cerletti Schweiz.Med.Wschr. 1964,94,1490-1502). Further chemical modifications led to the well-known thenylidene derivative VM-26 (teniposide, VumonR, discovered in October 1965, commercialized by Sandoz in 1976) and to the clinically still very successful ethylidene derivative VP-16-213 (etoposide, VepesidR, discovered on October 21, 1966). The latter two compounds teniposide and etoposide were found by Stähelin to have a new mechanism of action: they blocked the entry of cells into mitosis (arrest in late S or G2 ) in contrast to SP-G and SP-I, respectively, which were spindle poisons. His subsequent investigations showed that the early biochemical effect of the two epipodophyllotoxins on proliferating cells in-vitro differed from the alkylating agents, antimetabolites and vinca alkaloids. After a landmark clinical comparative analysis by F. Muggia and M. Rozencweig (Cancer 40(1),334-42,1977) etoposide and teniposide were licenced to Bristol-Myers in 1978 for further clinical development which rapidly brought etoposide's US-FDA approval in November 1983. Etoposide today is a potent, well tolerated combination partner in innumerable hematologic and solid tumor treatment schedules including malignant lymphomas, lung cancer and is indispensable for the cure of testicular carcinoma (L.H. Einhorn, PNAS 2002,99(7),4592-95; F.M.Schabel et al Cancer Treat.Rep.1979,63,1459-73).

Stähelin was also instrumental in the discovery process of several microbial products inhibiting cell proliferation such as cytochalasin B, brefeldin A, verrucarin A, anguinine, chlamydocin which played an important role in basic cancer research.

In 1969 Stähelin made the key decision to include a test system for immunosuppression into the general screening program (GSP) at Sandoz for compounds and extracts. For this purpose he invented a new procedure which permitted to use the same mice for testing anticancer activity (L-1210) and immunosuppression (inhibition of antibody formation) in an "all in one in-vivo test system" which considerably reduced the number of experimental animals, the quantity of test substances needed and the labour involved. Stähelin laid down the rules for this procedure thereby inaugurating an innovative screening system for specifically discovering immunosuppressant drugs devoid of bone marrow toxicity - the first such screen in the history of the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. This screen was activated in the Pharmacology Department in January 1970 before Jean F. Borel joined Stähelin's group (H. Stähelin Experientia 1996,52(1),5-13; K.Heusler & A.Pletscher Swiss Med. Wkly.2001,131,289-290).

This screen led Stähelin, after he had discovered the nonmyelotoxic immunosuppressant ovalicin in a similar screen, on January 31, 1972 to the discovery of the potent biological activity of cyclosporine A – the drug which revolutionized organ transplantation in the 1970's (J.F.Borel,C.Feurer,H.U.Gubler,H.Stähelin "Biological effects of cyclosporin A: a new antilymphocytic agent"Agents Actions 6:468-475,1976 - a subsequent citation classic CC/6:16-16, February 6, 1984 ). The "Stähelin-Screen" was rapidly and very successfully adopted by the Japanese Pharmaceutical Company Fujisawa which subsequently discovered tacrolimus (FK-506, PrografR ) , the second clinically used calcineurin inhibitor.

On the occasion of the AACR Bruce F.Cain Award 1990 to H.F. Stähelin and A. von Wartburg, the chemist, Stähelin wrote:

"...there are an astonishing number of coincidences between etoposide and cyclosporine.The first coincidence was that etoposide and cyclosporine were both found and developed on the chemical and biological side by the same groups, those of the present authors and their specific biological effects were discovered by one of us; second, both compounds were approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration on the same day in November 1983, although they had been submitted by different companies; furthermore, both drugs act via an effect on an intranuclear isomerase, topoisomerase II, and peptide cis-trans-isomerase, respectively; both compounds are potent immunosuppressants; etoposide as well as cyclosporin are used in the treatment of leukemias or other malignancies; the latter after bone marrow transplantation to prevent graft-versus-host disease, the former also being used in conjunction with bone marrow transplantation; sometimes, the two compounds are used concomitantly, exploiting the capacity of cyclosporine to reduce certain types of multidrug resistance or to modify immunity against tumors cured by etoposide; in the development of both drugs, galenical problems arose, related to poor water solubility and absorption from intestinal tract, and experience gained with etoposide in this area was crutial for overcoming, several years later, difficulties of a similar type with cyclosporine. It is left to the reader to make assumptions about the heuristic aspects of these surprising coincidences..." (Cancer Res 51, 5-15, 1991)

Stähelin's accomplishments are truly outstanding as no one else to our knowledge can claim discovery of two lifesaving drugs in cancer and immunology, apart from having made other important fundamental observations of scientific significance without having yet received an adequate recognition.

Larry "Rocky" Hamilton (April 1, 1931-July 20, 1996), known by his ringname The Missouri Mauler, was an American professional wrestler who competed in the National Wrestling Alliance as well as Florida Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions, becoming a mainstay of the latter promotion throughout the 1960s.

One of the earliest professional wrestlers to appear on televised wrestling events, he feuded with many popular wrestlers of the era including Jack Brisco, ^[1] "Plowboy" Stan Frazier, Steve Keirn, Tim Woods, Tarzan Tyler and Fritz Von Erich during his 31 year career.

He is also the older brother of wrestler Joseph Hamilton who competed as the masked wrestler The Assassin as well as the uncle of former World Championship Wrestling official Nick Patrick.

Early career

Making his debut in the Missouri area during the early 1950s, he began wrestling for promoter Ed Don George in Buffalo, New York where he and his brother began teaming together as the Hamilton Brothers in 1957 headlining an event at Madison Square Garden against Antonio Rocca and Miguel Perez the following year. ^[2]

Spitting up shortly thereafter, Hamilton and his brother went their separate ways leaving New York in October 1958 with Joseph Hamilton leaving for San Francisco while Larry Hamilton began working for promoter Jim Crockett, Sr. in the Carolinas.

Crockett Promotions

It was during his time in what would later become Jim Crockett Promotions that Larry Hamilton would find his greatest success becoming a major star in the promotion in only a few short years. Appearing in the earliest televised matches for the promotion, Hamilton teamed with The Great Bolo to win the regional tag team title.

The two would remain the top "heel" tag team in the promotion until the early 1960s when Joseph Hamilton was brought into the promotion and began teaming with the Great Bolo in 1961 (the two would continue teaming together as The Assassins for the next 15 years).

Hamilton and The Masked Bolos would face Haystacks Calhoun and The Kentuckyians in a series of six-man tag team matches during the next year setting several attendance records in the Carolina-Virgina area including an event held the Greenville Memorial Auditorium in Greenville, South Carolina.

During the early 1970s, Hamilton would form a successful tag team with Jim "Brute" Bernard winning the Texas-based NWA America and NWA Atlantic Coast tag team titles between 1971 and 1972.

Later years

Following his retirement in 1981, Hamilton entered the bail bonding and was involved in the St. James Catholic Church in his hometown St. Louis, Missouri. Although undergoing a hip replacement in his later years, Hamilton remained in relatively good health until his death from a heart attack on July 20, 1996.

The Eureka Hotel also known as Bentley's Hotel was actually owned by Catherine Bentley and not James. When the Englishman and ex-convict who had made good James Bentley was acquitted of murder, the Irish miners, especially Peter Lalor agitated for a second trial in which James was found guilty of manslaughter.

The miners destroyed the Eureka Hotel and a few years later in 1859 the Eureka Hotel lands were sold in a corrupt land deals by JB Humffray. The miners and other storekeeps were compensated for the destruction of their property at the Eureka riots but the Bentley's received nothing though they had invested 30,000 pounds to build a grand hotel in a city then mostly composed of tents.

The Bentley ancestors are in 2007 claiming compensation from the crown for the illegal sale of their lands in 1858.

Homeless at aged 14 in Ottawa Canada having revealed his homosexuality to his largely homophobic Jamaican family making his home an unsafe place to live. At aged 17 He began to study dance with a small company called Les Ballet Jazz de Montreal who had just opened studios in Toronto. Trying only to regain muscle control and coordination that had been lost from growing too tall too fast. He grew over 4 inches in one summer. Dancing came naturally and shortly after he started and despite his 6'3" in height, (6'5" today). he was fortunate enough to receive the first of many full scholarships. At 18 He moved to New York City. He studied briefly at Dance Theatre of Harlem then later at the Joffrey Ballet with a full scholarship. Right at the beginning of his professional ballet career he became injured then simultaneously lost all of the passion required to maintain a successful dance career in NYC. He began rehabilitation of his injuries with pilates which was used mainly on injured dancers at that time, it was not the huge excercize craze it is today.

He started working in nightclubs in the early 80's. His first club job was as a men's bathroom attendant at a legendary nightclub called "Area" that had replaced Studio 54 as the Manhattan VIP hangout. The coed bathrooms doubled as lounges where people hung out all night. Andy Warhol was his constant nightly companion watching all the goings on. He would say to him "I hope you are writing all this down Desmond". While working as a toilet attendant he met many influential people including fashion designer Zoran and Jean Paul Gaulthier who helped him begin a modeling career. Around that same time he also met a world renown German artist Rainer Fetting who completely transformed his life exposing him to the exciting world of art. He has been worked with him ever since mostly as a model for painting, photography and sculpture. He moved to Paris and worked with an modeling agency called Elite + Model Management (the same as Linda Evangelista and a sweet baby Naomi Campbell as well as loads of other well known beauties). In Paris he worked with Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Myake, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme de Garcon, Yves St Laurent, Thierry Mugler, Katherine Hamnett, Vivienne Westwood (one season to his surprise and delight she named a colour after him and all the models in the fashion show wore "Desmond Brown" satin suits and beautiful gigantic gowns it was awesome even though she never gave him one.) and many others. He has been photographed by some of the major photographic talent of his time Robert Mapplethorpe, Lord Antony Snowden, Bruce Weber, David LaChapelle, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Pierre et Gilles, Gaultier, Oliviero Toscani, Stefan Sednaoui, Andy Warhol, Tony Viramontez, Thierry Mugler... He has posed for Jean Michel Basquiat (A portrait of him was the first at auction in Sotheby's after his sudden and tragic death which sold for about $275,000, at the time was quite remarkable) , David Salle, During the 90's he returned to nightclub work, this time as a promoter then a director of promotions creating several successful evenings and events at well known clubs such as The Supper Club, U.S.A, The Tunnel, Twilo and Life Nightclub, which lead to a public relations career. He decided to go back to school to begin a completely new carreer in the "Feel Good" business. At The Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences he studied anatomy, physiology, palpation, neurology, pathology, myology, kinesiology as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine elemental theory and other Eastern modalities and philosophies. He studied Thai massage in Thailand. He wants to help people feel more comfortable in their bodies literally in the own skin. How to Save Our Health care System

Dear Healthcare provider, Organization and Concerned Citizen, included in this package is information critical to your quality of life as an individual and to the survival of American health organizations and perhaps that of the Nation.

After reviewing this document, you should imagine what numbers would fill in the blanks relating to cost incurred by your organization, institution or health insurance plan. Then once again, review the innovations I am proposing. We need to mount a campaign to promote new modes of thought in this nation. Armed with the new facts and figures that you have deduced, I would suggest that you demand of Politicians, Medical Agencies and, Consumer groups to take note of what I am proposing.

By no means do I intend to imply that the vast majority of Americans would opt for the alternative options, plans and method of treatment that I will introduce in this article. However, I do contend that based on human nature alone, a significant number of customers would select, if offered, the alternatives am I putting forth; such would generate savings enough to offers greater access to medical care for all and, at reduced cost.

Our Healthcare System in Collapse

We stand at a crux in our history as a nation perhaps, the most crucial juncture it has faced since the division and calamity brought on by the Civil War threaten to rip it apart. As David Walker, the Comptroller General of the United States (Government Accountability Office) purported in his July 8, 2008, interview on ‘60 Minutes’, the biggest economic peril facing the nation is being ignored and, as Walker sees it, the survival of the republic is at stake. Walker cites that the first baby boomer will reach 62 and be eligible for early retirement of Social Security January 1, 2008. They'll be eligible for Medicare just three years later.

Those of us, like Mr. Walker, who are observant enough and cognizant enough to see the proverbial death blow descend as such an influx, will undoubtedly collapse an already weak, overburden and rapidly deteriorating healthcare system. These massive healthcare entitlement programs we can no longer afford, as Mr. Walker concludes, which I contend alone could reek havoc, are but a fraction of the combined obligations, liabilities and medical incursion that, unlike the Civil War, will be triumphant in ripping the nation apart and send it spiraling into despair and chaos. The United States spend 16% of Gross Domestic Product on Healthcare. Those healthcare cost have been tracked at rising two thirds the rate of inflation. Currently (2007), the WHO lists the United States at 1st in Healthcare cost and 37th in quality of care and service.

Even the most stubborn and delusional optimist among us should be moved to take their heads out of the sand when other crippling financial legacies are thrown into the mix, such as (the seemly never ending) War in Iraq and other catastrophic instabilities facing our nation i.e. Depletion of Natural Resources and/or the escalating cost in obtaining them, Weather Related Disasters and Climatic Disruptions and, the Decline of America as the chief player in the world market of finance, industry and commerce and trade. Surely even a stead fast optimist should be moved to question whether or not we are marching towards the perilous cliffs of doom, like lemmings, wearing rose colored glasses, inebriated in a lotus induced stupor.

Fortunately, there are many out there among us who heed the cries and appeals of respectable renowned prophets like Mr. Walker. And I would assume that there are others out there in positions of leadership, who are able to cast their sphere of influence and, who are willing or, may at this very moment, be calculating the impending healthcare disaster and are making efforts to alert the citizenry. Hopefully after reading this article, you will become one of them.

However, being informed of a problem does not inherently imply that they have the necessary ideals and solutions to address it. Because you have taken you head out of the sand is of but little avail if you simply run around the peripherally of your dug hole, in circles, as your disaster, your annihilator, advances ever so stead forward to your path.

Seldom are problems, of this scope and magnitude, which have never been faced before, appeased by exercises, tactics or methods used in the past, no matter how seemly successful they may thought to have been at that time. For if they truly had been successful, the prevailing situation calling for their address, may have never been birthed. In fact, often, it is those very attempts to address such problems that may have indirectly or adversely contributed to their growth and sustainability.

What is often needed is fresh measures and tactics, a new way to encounter the problem and in the best case, a new paradigm shift in not only how we look at the problem but evaluate trends which contribute to the formation of the problem and alternate patterns of lifestyle and modifications of thought that will lessen its impact on society and finally teach us to embrace bold new concepts and creative ideology in solving the problem.

I would like to put forward such a concept and foster such creative ideology. At its core, lies a simple concept: CHOICE. However unlike several other ideologies that also involve the word’ choice’. I hold that this usage does not, nor is its intention to, cross over, invalidate or to challenge spiritual references and their mandates. I hold that use of the word ‘ choice’ in this context is not a ruse for setting precedent in order to lead the way to exalt more extreme topics such as Euthanasia or Right to Die. I am using the word’ choice ‘as to explore other ways we look at treating terminally ill and end of life stage patients, or rather Persons.

I believe that by offering the individual new creative choices as to how they choose to manage that transitional phase of their lives’ will be the most crucial element in diffusing the ticking time bomb of healthcare collapse whose fuse even now singes the blast point. Monies saved in one area of healthcare especially one that is as draining as treating the terminally ill (in the methods that we use today) and End of Life Stage patients can be used to affect better treatment and care to other areas of healthcare demanding our attention i.e. State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), Medicare and Medicaid, and the teeming masses of the under and uninsured.

What I propose is take the proven concept of Hospice care to new level of appeal and a new dimension of implementation. What if as a consumer, as a person with choice, was given the option to elect on their insurance coverage, a plan that would allow them, if diagnosed with a terminal disease or condition, where the prognosis of life expectancy is given at ten years or best, with the most intensive modalities of treatment available at the time or, five years at best with compassionate treatment; to Live the remainder of their days on an island retreat, in the fashion the Club Med members of the 80’s were entreated to when they elected to use Club Med as their Vacation Plan preference of choice.

A recipient of such plan would choose to forgo mind boggling expensive treatments such as Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy and the likes of Investigational Drug Treatments. Pre-existing conditions, not related to the terminal illness would (if customer so desire) be treated via outpatient medications.

Such recipient would have also elected to forgo mechanical and artificial life sustaining equipment and services if they do not impact or enhance the quality of life. These Persons of Choice would be allowed to complete their transition in dignity and in comfortable surroundings devoid of Emergency Medical Intervention aside from Comfort Measures Only.

Although not an accountant, healthcare administrator or number cruncher, I have enough presence of mind and insight to ascertain that the cost of providing such luxury accommodations as those offered by Club Med to its patrons would be but a mere fraction of what it would cost that terminally ill or end of life stage patient to manage their transition, given only the current options available to them today. Let’s explore some of those options. _______________________ ___________________ ___________________

Fee-for-service plans: If you have this type of health insurance, you can choose any doctor, change doctors any time and you can go to any hospital anywhere in the United States. You pay a monthly fee, called a premium. Every year, you have to pay a certain amount of money (known as the deductible) before your insurance will pay your medical expenses. After you have met your deductible, your insurance will pay a set percentage of the bill. Projected cost of providing 5 years of aggressive treatment for terminally ill and/or end of life stage patient(s)

This is a suggestion of the financial reference points that should be taken into consideration when doing your evaluation:

Health maintenance organizations (HMO). The HMO will usually cover most expenses after a minimal co-payment. HMOs may also limit your choice of providers to those within their approved provider network.

Point-of-service plans (POS): A point of-service plan is a type of HMO. The primary care doctors in a POS plan usually make referrals to other doctors in the plan.. Cost of providing 5 years of aggressive treatment for terminally ill and/or end of life stage patient(s)

Preferred provider organization (PPO): The preferred provider is selected by plan holder. Cost of providing 5 years of aggressive treatment for terminally ill and/or end of life stage patient(s)

A NEW WAY TO LOOK AT HEALTHCARE OPTIONS AND METHODS OF TREATMENT

Accommodations

Also not a Hospital Administrator or Medical Planner, I am just a common Joe, and I will offer this proposal to those mentioned parties for the finer details but, this is how I foresee the establishment of such a facility geared to match the amenities afforded in a Club Med like vacation package to those individual customers electing to choose such newly offered insurance options.

As a collaboration between various Insurance companies and their hospitals of preference and, with the backing of and the protection afforded by the Federal Government these institutions will combine their resources to purchase, rent or commander tropical or resort friendly Island chains, Island or, large portions of Island(s) to establish a Hospice Paradise environment for recipients of such services.

Depending of the level of the plan opted for; the recipient would be allowed to take or to have paid-for visits of a specified number of family members to that ___location as such option of the plan entails.

The arrangement at the facility would allow for varying degree of service and lodging to the customer depending of the level of service and need required by the customer or once again, by the level of service opted for in the option of the plan selected.

All accommodations on the island would be provided free of charge to members and their selected guest. This would include airfare to and from the island by member and selected quest. Airfare is also included and flights will be arranged for those members who have completed their transition and have made it known that they wish their final resting place to be elsewhere’s. Members who wish their final resting place to be on the island would have such services performed as an adjunct to their coverage (regardless of plan selected).

This would include all meals provided by dinning facilities maintained by the plan although great effort would be made to encourage restaurants and a host of private institutions to locate on the island, including shopping venues and other forms of entertainment. Patronage of private establishments would be the financial responsibility of the member.

Other free accommodations and amenities would include: RECREATIONAL ACTIVES (Fishing, Scuba Diving, Hiking, etc. and a whole host of other less exhausted activities for those more impaired. Group Activities, Counseling and Religious services. All of these services and amenities would extend to the guest, as long as they are in attendance with the member at the time of the activity.

Facilities

As stated earlier, the island would host various living arrangements and accommodations depending of type of coverage selected. Such arrangements could run the gamut from Beachside Bungalows to Assisted Living Apartments to Community Hospice settings. Full nursing services as condition(s) dictates.

The island would host a full service hospital but the intent of the hospital would be to treat those conditions pre-existing of the terminal illness and those mishaps and occurrences that might befall the customer during their stay i.e. slips and falls, first aid care, colds and flues, etc. In the event some major mishap, requiring some sort of extensive medical attention would befall the member while during their stay at the island, for which they wish to be treated for; transportation would be provided free of charge but member would be financially responsible to the treating facility for such care. Guest of members would be entitled to the same free transportation off the island but, they would be financially responsible for any care administered to them while on the island.

Emergency Management and Disaster Planning

Due to the beneficial impact upon the nation and the significant saving afforded the Federal Government (for they may even elect to send terminally ill patients under their care to such Island(s) i.e. Veterans – recipients of various Federal Entitlement Plans. I would hold that not only should they financially participate in the establishment of such Islands but under the auspices of Homeland security that they patrol the waterways surrounding such Island and be ready to implement evacuations and/or services in the event of natural or man-made disasters.

Conclusion

Simple, act now, act a new, and thwart off the descending crisis. As I stated earlier, I am just a common Joe. There are limits to the amount of research that I able to do or willing to do. I refer filling in the blanks to those Individuals and organizations much more creditable than I.

Trevor Johnson is a Graphic designer based in Manchester. Born in Salford, he is known for his design work for many Manchester bands including: 808 State, Simply Red,Swing Out Sisterand Electronic. He created music design for Factory Records both independently and with design partnership Johnson/Panas which included bands such as The Durutti Column, A Certain Ratio,Ad Infinitum (band),Biting Tongues,Stockholm Monsters, and Kalima. Throughout the 1980's and early 1990's Trevor created designs for The legendary Hacienda Nightclub and Madchester.

Trevor’s design work has been exhibited in the UK and abroad including Manchester Metropolitan University, The Cornerhouse Manchester, International 3 Manchester, and The Victoria and Albert Museum London as well as The Locomotive Paris, The House of the Rising Star in NY USA, and also toured South Africa, Venezuela, Trinidad, India and Romania as part of the British Council touring exhibition Sensurround. Trevor's designs are featured in many books, magazine and newspaper publications, design and music internet sites.

In addition to his music design Trevor has created brand identities, campaigns and projects for many clients most recently The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester United F.C Merchandising, Urbis, Manchester City Council, Urban Splash, Greater Manchester Police, and Manchester Metropolitan University.

Throughout his career Trevor Johnson has continued to lecture throughout the UK in visual communication and applied identity, including several UK Universities. He has directly contributed to the educational programmes of Salford University Design School and has acted as external assessor for Manchester Metropolitan University, School of Art & Design

Trevor Johnson continues to live and work in Greater Manchester, he is Creative Director at Creative Lynx and is an appointed member of The City of Manchesters Creative Panel, and works independently as a design consultant for many regional clients.

Torn Between formed in January 2007, after recruiting former Incandescent guitarists James and Ben, Ben Ford on drums, and Ollie Keely and Mike Farmer who once jammed together. The five realised that every band in the area were either "Emo", Metal or Indie so they decided to write music diffferent from the rest. This turned out to be what has been described as "the new age of british modern hardrock". They recorded and recently released their three track E.P at Tubestation Studios in Norwich and this attracted some attention from local and a national record company. They also have attracted attention from Promoters and scouts. Torn Between are always looking to raise their profile as a band as music is the most important thing in their lives. They want to reach out to everyone interested in music and show them what they have been waiting all their lives to hear. Torn Between is best described as up beat rock, with powerful melodies supplied by the lead guitar, spine tingling guitar solos and steady, rythmic drums. Torn Between are managed by a company called Getyourbandon. Torn Between have played gigs around the country including Norwich and leicester.

Bridgerule is a village in Devon, England, situated very close to the Cornish border.

In recent times the village has grown considerably in size, mainly due to the development of two new housing estates. The local pub, The Bridge Inn, holds the distinction of being the only pub in Devon to the west of the river Tamar. The village itself, whilst reltively populous has few amenities, namely a Public House, a primary school, a C of E Church and a methodist chapel. Just outside of the village, but easily accesible on foot, is a small filling station and an industrial estate.

The village once had its own railway station, but this is now derelict although the station building still remains.

Suprisingly, the village is well served by public transport and regular routes run to the Cities of Plymouth and Exeter in the south and the large town of Barnstaple to the north.

Triple X Wrestling are a Professional Wrestling promotion based in Coventry, England. Home to many well-known British wrestlers, Triple X offers fans an alternative, in the line of straight up wrestling, violence and comical antics. Triple X Wrestling held their first show on Sunday 9th April 2006, at "The Tam O'Shanter Burns Club" in Coventry, entitled "Third Times The Charm".

Triple X Wrestling took part in the British Under 23's Championship Tournament, in November 2006. Stiro represented Triple X Wrestling in the tournament, while Jekkel & Exodus (Jexodus) faced Zack Sabre Jr & Jimmy Havoc (Unamed Team #47) as part of the afternoon card.

Campus Management Corp. is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software company serving higher education. Founded in 1988, the Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm reports that 78% of the largest U.S.-based for-profit post-secondary schools use its student information system (SIS) to administer on-campus and online operations. Clients include Career Education Corporation [NASDAQ: CECO], Corinthian Colleges Inc. [NASDAQ: COCO], Kaplan University, a Washington Post company [NYSE: WPO], and Education Management Corporation (EDMC).

Campus Management has benefitted from the expansion of the for-profit education industry, which generated an estimated US$27 billion in revenues in 2006. Led by David Meek, founder and Chief Executive Officer, the privately held firm also has forrayed into the traditional not-for-profit segment of higher education, accruing among others Baker University, Chatham University and University of Alabama's College of Continuing Studies at Tuscaloosa.

In the summer of 2007, Campus Management announced it had opened its technical architecture to permit integration of its proprietary system to work with open source software packages, namely, Moodle, a free community-managed course management system. Dorcia is a five-piece metal band from Reno, Nevada. Started in 2003, Dorcia began playing shows throughout Reno and Sparks. The original line-up consisted of Richard Wylie, Lane Roberts, Travis Stewart, Candy Magnum, Aaron Chapin, and Brian Boydstun. After compiling a set list worth of songs Dorcia's first show was played in December of 2003 at the now debunked Club Infinity. As time progressed members started to realize that Candy's playing was not up to par and she had to be replaced. Enter Dave "Bro" Mascarenas. With the new line-up, Dorcia began writing more songs and recorded a 3 song demo with Julian Peach (Clutchmove Studios) of December fame in 2004. This line up never really toured. They played a lot of consecutive weekends out of town in such places as Fresno, Elko, and all over the Bay Area and Central California.

The year of 2005 brought much tribulation to the band. Dave was moving and Lane was quitting. Replacing Dave was going to be difficult, but a friend of Travis', Zach Pieren, quickly filled the spot with much enthusiasm. To replace Lane, Jim Booth was acquired. Still a six piece band, Dorcia began writing more material in hopes of recording a full length in the fall of 2006. Turmoil in the band quickly arose as members started to not get along with one another. Richard Wylie soon left.

Aaron Chapin got a hold of an untapped resource from California. Tim Mansfield joined Dorcia. Just as things began to look up, Aaron Chapin began to tumble. To this day it is unknown exactly what happened with him, but his health and playing were getting worse. Injury after injury and what seemed to be a giant cover-up after cover-up inhibited Aaron from playing shows out of town and writing new music. When out of town shows would come up, Lane would come in to save the day. During the “Aaron injury era”, Jim Booth moved on to focus on his main band The Uplifted (now called A House Cursed). Staying as a five piece (Travis, Zach, Brian, Tim and Aaron), Dorcia planned to be in the studio be October of 2006. The members of Dorcia bunkered down and wrote and re-wrote the material for the new record.

In October of 2006, Dorcia entered the studio with acclaimed producer Tom Gordon (December, Fall Silent, Milli Vanilli) at Imirage Studios in Sparks, Nevada. Dorcia spent hour after hour hammering out their new full length with Tom. Released in 2006, “Join the Choir” quickly etched Dorcia’s name into the metal scene in Reno and beyond. In the summer of 2007, Dorcia received a record deal from Midgets with Machetes Records out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. MWM records offered a two record deal to Dorcia.

Following the signing of the contract Aaron and the band had a huge blow up concerning all the lies and deceit. Aaron and Dorcia parted ways. As a four piece, they quickly realized the need for a second guitar player. Now under pressure to record a record for MWM and tour in the summer of 2006 haste was now the name of the game. Tim called his friend Kris Villines from Carson City. Kris accepted and Dorcia hit the road in 2006 for a mini tour through all of Cali, into Arizona and Southern Nevada. Dorcia now has full rotation on XM radio with songs from “Join the Choir”.

After returning from tour, Dorcia began writing material for their MWM records debut. They will enter the studio with Michael Keene (Suicide Silence, Born of Osiris, The Faceless) at Keene Machine Studios in October of 2007 with the current line-up of Travis Stewart, Brian Boydstun, Zach Pieren, Tim Mansfield, and Kris Villines.

Daft.ie is an Irish online property search website set up in 1997 by brothers Eamonn and Brian Fallon. It developed a following initially amongst young people especially in the universities as a place to find rented accommodation and rented properties. It was started just at the beginning of an Irish economic boom which give rise to high immigration levels, widespread internet adoption and a house price boom sometimes refered to as the Irish Property Bubble.

Daft.ie was set up in direct competition to newspapers like the Evening Herald and the Irish Times. In recent years it has become widely adopted by Irish internet users to find property for sale eating into the advertising revenues once enjoyed by the Irish newspaper industry. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, it had 760,113 unique vistors in the month of March 2006.

Recently it has become a leading source of research on the Irish Property market with its quarterly Daft Report and it was the first media source to predict the downturn in the Irish housing market in April 2006
