In 2001, Brisbane City Council sought expressions of interest from companies wanting to establish a tourist climb on Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge. Successful over 14 other companies, Story Bridge Adventures were granted a 30 year, 24 hour license in July 2003 to construct and operate Story Bridge Adventure Climb. A hand-picked team spent two years and two million dollars preparing the climb for operation. Story Bridge Adventure Climb operates 361 days a year, closed only Christmas Day and three days surrounding the Riverfire fireworks. Since opening in October 2005, more than 60,000 climbers have enjoyed the climb experience. Sourcesedit165.228.201.120 (talk) 01:38, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CareereditBorn in Lahti Finland, Antti Sakari Saario graduated in Mathematics and Electronic Music atKeele University in 1997. He continued his studies in composition under Jonty Harrison at The University Of Birmingham - working with Birmingham ElectroAcoustic Sound Theatre ( BEAST ) - recieving his PHD in 2001. [2] His numerous postgraduate compositions have been performed in a variety of venues and through a wide range of mediums - Most notably B-Side (1998) - A Fixed media composition. This was Released on Spike 'Works from BEAST - vol.1'.London: Sargasso Records. It was further featured in the Canadian Electroacoustic Community's release 'Presence II' [3] . 'B-Side (1998)' was a positively reviewed by Rajmil Fischman in Sonic Arts Network's publication 'Diffusion'[4] After a period of experimental work in Norway , Antti Sakari Saario undertook his current teaching post atLancaster University. [5] His second wave of compositional output began to emerge in the 2006 and has continued to date. Noteable compositions have included : Making Space: When The Curtain Falls (2007) - an acousmatic play for multichannel playback system and blacked-out space, performed as part of Nuffield Theatre's Making Space 2007 bursary/mini-residency scheme. [6] This work was recently featured at ACMC 2008, Sydney Conservatorium of Music - The University of Sydney, Australia in July 2008.
Flocking: an improvatorio (2007-)[7] for voices, string quartet and live-electronics. A free improvisation led by Steve Lewis [8] in collaboration with David Prior. This was a site specific performance at Ashton Memorial as part of Lancaster Jazz Festival. [9]. It subsequently featured at View Two Gallery, Liverpool, UK on Sept 6th, 2007. [10]. A DVD of the Jazz Festival performance was produced with a 5.1 surround audio recording by David Prior, Saario and video artist Jenny McCabe.[11] InfluenceseditDr Saario's work reflect his evolution as a composer - he readily acknowledges the influence of his tutors and collaborators on his work. Jonty Harrison ,David Prior, Iain Armstrong and Robert Penman have left a telling influence on his sonic production. One Charateristic feature of Dr Saarios work is his willingness to counterbalance within his work a wide range of aesthetic and academic approaches. The literary output of William Burroughs has been evident since his earliest compositions. The philosophy of Deleuze and Guattari and the filmwork of David Lynch and the Dogma 95 collaboration in particular underpin his composition as well as his academic approach. [12] His personal interests in martial arts [13] can be clearly evidenced in the his recent work - Making Space: When The Curtain Falls (2007) .[14]. Dr Saario is a senior student of Nick Hudis - acclaimed bodyworker [15] and QiGong teacher [16] Sourcesedithttp://www.lancs.ac.uk/fass/faculty/profiles/Antti-Saario/LICA/

(American, born in Brazil, 1970) is self-taught artist whose popular works are cited as a distinct crossover between Latin American folk art and American pop art. In interviews he credits his childhood spent growing up in South America, Latin America, northern Africa and Europe to shaping to the multi-cultural themes that are hallmarks of his pieces. Many of Felici's favorite subjects include American historic icons, real and fictional, usually rendered with bright latex paint on plywood panels. One of his best known and oft-repeated paintings is that of "Libertad" -- a spiky-crowned Statue of Liberty with bold Spanish-language lettering appearing at the base of the painting. Other of his better known portraits include civil rights leaders like Jesse Jackson and Martin Luther King to Madison Avenue creations, including Mr. Clean and Uncle Ben. Oftentimes his art also pays homage to contemporary working immigrants, including frequent paintings of Mexican ice cream vendors, hotel housekeeping maids and cafeteria dishwashers. Felici, who is fluent in several languages, usually includes lettering and translingual plays on words in his works. Examples include his series depicting familiar Wrigley's gum wrappers in which Big Red becomes "Big Rojo," Winterfresh becomes "Winterfresco" and Juicyfruit becomes "Juicyfruta." He began creating works in his late 20s and quickly gained critical recognition in his home state of Texas, particularly thanks to profiles in The Texas Observer, The Dallas Morning News, The San Antonio-Express News, The Houston Press, The Austin Chronicle, Rumbo Newspapers and The Austin-American Statesman. He has also been profiled by Univision and Telemundo television. His work has also appeared in various magazines and books dealing with multicultural studies, including Humor Me: An Anthology of Humor by Writers of Color, (University of Iowa Press, 2000). In 2002 he began an ongoing artistic collaboration with indie singer-songwriter Faris Nourallah, creating the artwork for five albums: Problematico (Western Vinyl, 2002), King of Sweden (Western Vinyl, 2006), Gone (Kitchen Music, 2006), Il Suo Cuore di Transistor (Awful Bliss, 2006) and Radio Faris (Awful Bliss, 2008). For 15 years Felici served as a senior advisor to three attorneys general in his home state of Texas. The juxtaposition of his populist-themed art and his day job as a promient figure in Texas politics were focal points of profiles in The Dallas Morning News and the The Austin American-Statesman. He retired from politics in 2008 and currently resides in San Antonio.

Jeff Roth is a semi-retired American professional wrestler who has competed in North American independent promotions throughout the 1990s including Florida Championship Wrestling, Future of Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance. A frequent tag team partner of Anthony Michaels, the two wrestled as Schmuck and Snot Dudley respectively as well as competing under the name Wild Side. He and Michaels were part of Animal House with Chris Charger and Billy Fives, a stable which dominated numerous Southeastern independent promotions during the late 1990s. [2] CareereditTrained by "The Wild Samoan" Afa Anoa'i, Roth wrestled for numerous Northeastern independent promotions before forming a tag team with Anthony Michaels who had left Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995. Wrestling as Schmuck and Snot Dudley throughout the East Coast and Mid-Atlantic independent circuit, the two were among the earliest tag teams to join Bobby Rogers' Future of Wrestling promotion in 1998. [2] Forming a stable with Michaels, Chris Charger and Billy Fives, their stable Animal House would dominate FOW and other Southeastern promotions throughout the late 1990s. Roth, who used an underdog gimmick while in FOW, would win the FOW Lightweight Championship in addition to winning the FOW Tag Team Championship twice with Michaels and once with Charger. [2] On July 6, 2000, he and Michaels took part in a special wrestling event at the Boys and Girls Club of Miami in front of over 2,000 children. After defeating their opponents, Phi Delta Slam (Bruno Sassi & Big Tilly), they also gave a "brutal paddling" to their manager Fabulous Frank. [3] He and Roth also competed in other Florida-based promotions that year such as Outlaw Championship Wrestling. [4] On April 13, Roth and Michaels were among those at FOW's fourth anniversary show at the Bergeron Arena in Davie. Appeared on the undercard in front of 3,500 fans, the main event being a 3-way dance between Terry Funk, Abdullah the Butcher and Kevin Sullivan, they defeated Suicidal Tendencies (Dennis & Sean Allen). [5] [6] The event was later released in the promotion's first dvd, however their match did not appear. [7] Feuding with The Vandalz during 2002, he and Michaels defeated their rivals at a June 29th house show in Davie, Florida attended by over 1,500 fans. [8] On October 18, Roth took part in a 6-way match against FOW Lightweight Champion David Babylon in Oakland Park, Florida. The other participants included Johnny Vandal, Chasyn Rance, Dan Evans and Mike Styles. [9] In December, their feud continued against Johnny Vandal facing him and Larry Lane in a tag team match [10] and in a 6-man tag team match with Nick Narcisstic against Johnny Vandal, Chaka & Bad Dog in Pembroke Pines, Florida. [11] Following the close of FOW, Roth split up with Michaels and wrestled in various independent promotions including Southern Championship Wrestling [12] and NWA Florida where, June 12, 2004, he defeated Johnny Vandal in Davie. [13] He also faced his former tag team partner on the independent circuit, defeating him in a Super 8 Tournament on January 10, 2004. [14] At the supercard Pro Wrestling Fusion, an interpromotional show between NWA Florida and NWA Sunray, Roth again faced Johnny Vandal at the Davie PAL on June 12, 2004. [15] In wrestlingedit

Captain Galactica — The Hand Of Odd is a 2008 sci-fi film written, edited and directed by Teis Søvang. Teis søvang reprises his role as Captain Galactica. The film also stars Simon Lydom, Rasmus Kanne, Martin Roelsgaard, Sander Tams and Frederik Larsen. The film was intended as a tribute to science fiction series such as Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica (Original Series), and features a space captain similar to Zap Branigan. PloteditThe plot centers about Captain Galactica in his command of the star-battleship Galactica (Reason for similarities between the captain and his ship unknown). The first scene shows how Captain Galactica handles an apparently everyday situation such as checking reports and conversing with his second in command. During the report, a connection with the opening scene (A starship being assaulted and blown up) is made, when the second in command, Mister Johnson, reports a lost radio contact with the military ship Halo V. Captain Galactica orders two scout groups to search for the ship, and thus the first scene is closed. Following the order, the film follows one of the two scout groups. They have a casual everyday conversation until the wreck of a ship suddenly appears. The scout leader, E24, reports back to Galactica, and the captain orders him to have a closer look at the wreck. While the wreck is searched, Captain Galactica figures that there is a connection between the two coordinates for the lost radio contact and a civilian distress call, and he concludes that the enemy must be using civilian frequenses to hide themselves. He demands a list of all civilian crafts, thus pinpointing the enemy ship. As the plot unfolds, the captain decides to hunt in a smaller ship know as a Liberty Frigate. With the enemy pinpointed he mounts a resque expedition for his daughter (The scouts found that only a coffee booth was missing from the wreck, which suggests that the Galactica daughter survived in that part of the ship). A combined ground battle and ship to ship fight follows, which ends with a defeated enemy, but presumed dead daughter. The Seven Worlds, as the star system apparently is called, is ready to meet the invasion. The film ends with Captain Galactica holding a speech for the fleet, and taking full control of the situation. Castedit
SoundtrackeditThe score of Captain Galactica — The Hand Off Odd includes soundtracks from diffrent movies including: Battlestar Galactica (Reimagined Series), Conan the Barbarian and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Communications Merit Badge is about Communications. The goal of this merit badge is ot ensure that higher ranked scouts understand and are fully able to communicate with others and their world.
Block Quote. 1. Do ONE of the following: A. For one day, keep a log in which you describe your communication activities. Keep track of the time and different ways you spend communicating, such as talking person-to-person, listening to teachers or the radio, watching television, reading books and other print media, and communicating online. Discuss with your counselor what your log reveals about the importance of communication in your life. Think of ways to improve your communication skills. B. For three days, keep a journal of your listening experiences. Identify one example of each of the following, and discuss with your counselor when you have listened to: 1. Obtain information 2. A persuasive argument 3. Appreciate or enjoy something 4. Understand someone's feelings C. In a small-group setting, meet with other Scouts or with friends. Have them share personal stories about significant events in their lives that affected them in some way. Take note of how each Scout participates in the group discussion and how effective each one is in telling his story. Report what you have learned to your counselor about the differences you observed in effective communication. D. List as many ways as you can think of to communicate with others (face-to-face, by telephone, letter, e-mail, fax). For each type of communication, discuss with your counselor an instance when that method might not be appropriate or effective.
2. Do ONE of the following: A. Think of a creative way to describe yourself using, for example, a collage, short story or autobiography, drawing or series of photographs, or a song or skit. Using the aid you created, make a presentation to your counselor about yourself. B. Choose a concept, product, or service in which you have great confidence. Build a sales plan based on its good points. Try to persuade the counselor to agree with, use, or buy your concept, product, or service. After your sales talk, discuss with your counselor how persuasive you were.
3. Write a five-minute speech. Give it at a meeting of a group.
4. Interview someone you know fairly well, like, or respect because of his or her position, talent, career, or life experiences. Listen actively to learn as much as you can about the person. Then prepare and deliver to your counselor an introduction of the person as though this person were to be a guest speaker, and include reasons why the audience would want to hear this person speak. Show how you would call to invite this person to speak.
5. Attend a public meeting (city council, school board, debate) approved by your counselor where several points of view are given on a single issue. Practice active listening skills and take careful notes of each point of view. Present an objective report that includes all points of view that were expressed, and share this with your counselor.
6. With your counselor's approval, develop a plan to teach a skill or inform someone about something. Prepare teaching aids for your plan. Carry out your plan. With your counselor, determine whether the person has learned what you intended.
7. Do ONE of the following: A. Write to the editor of a magazine or your local newspaper to express your opinion or share information on any subject you choose. Send your message by fax, e-mail, or regular mail. B. Create a Web page for your Scout troop, school, or other organization. Include at least one article and one photograph or illustration, and one link to some other Web page that would be helpful to someone who visits the Web page you have created. It is not necessary to post your Web page to the Internet, but if you decide to do so, you must first share it with your parents and counselor and get their permission. C. Use desktop publishing to produce a newsletter, brochure, flier, or other printed material for your Scout troop, class at school, or other group. Include at least one article and one photograph or illustration.
8. Plan a troop court of honor or campfire program. Have the patrol leaders' council approve it, then write the script and prepare the program. Serve as master of ceremonies.
9. Learn about opportunities in the field of communication. Choose one career in which you are interested and discuss with your counselor the major responsibilities of that position and the qualifications, education, and preparation it requires.
