The result was redirect to 2011–2014 terrorist attacks in Kenya without prejudice against merge. I see consensus that despite Metallurgist's sourcing improvements, there's still not enough for standalone notability. Owen× ☎ 09:24, 19 August 2025 (UTC)

Declined prod. No lasting coverage to meet WP:EVENT. I could find lasting coverage for other attacks in Nairobi but not this one. LibStar (talk) 23:33, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to 2011-2014 terrorist attacks in Kenya: A section deals with the event. - Eva Ux 05:27, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to 2011–2014 terrorist attacks in Kenya, I agree this is a good target. Even if there were sustained secondary coverage, it would still be preferable to keep all of these together per WP:PAGEDECIDE. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 03:23, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to 2011-2014 terrorist attacks in Kenya since this page is directly related to the terrorist attacks, there is no need for a new article. Sethi752 (talk) 09:36, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- Strong keep I have expanded the article and found additional sources. The death toll was actually updated from four to six. Also, found a source several months later that cited the attack as a reason for improving counter terror training for the bus drivers. Definitely notable. I am sure there are other sources as well in Kenyan media that are missing. I found one. My Swahili is rusty, but I could try that too. Its important not to be biased against Africa-based articles just because the sourcing is lacking from what we would find ideal. An attack like this in the West would not be questioned for notability. Metallurgist (talk) 04:57, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- 3 of the added sources are from the time of the event in December 2013. There needs to be lasting coverage and impact to meet WP:EVENT. LibStar (talk) 05:03, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yes that was to help eliminate the single source issue. However, that establishes updates to the attack, that this was not a one and done. And I added a source from three months later that noted the attack's role in increasing security on Nairobi buses. I added another Kenyan source that was updated in 2020 (altho I dont know how). I also just found this source, which mentions the attack in June 2014 as part of an article on Uganda beefing up security. If six white people were blown up in a bus attack and 36 injured, would the notability be questioned? Regardless, I have found sustained coverage. Metallurgist (talk) 05:50, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- You've added primary sources and passing mentions. You're trying to stitch notability together from nothing and then accusing everyone who points this out of being racist. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 22:27, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
- I am not accusing anyone of being racist. I am pointing out the issues of assessing notability in a developing country. The idea that this isnt notable is highly biased. This does not reflect on the personalities of editors. Metallurgist (talk) 01:57, 16 August 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect - The topic should be covered as part of the broader article 2011–2014 terrorist attacks in Kenya. Therefore, this page should be redirected there to avoid content duplication and to consolidate related information in one comprehensive ___location. Herinalian (talk) 20:36, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- Keep after the additions to the article were made it is no longer just a passing event and was sufficiently notable to meet WP:GNG. I generally prefer a redirect over an outright delete whenever possible, but preferable even to that is a keep whenever possible. After more recent improvements, I'd say that the article has met WP:EVENT now. Iljhgtn (talk) 21:40, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

- Merge is an option, but otherwise a weak keep. I think it's better than before, but perhaps even more so could be discussed in context. Bearian (talk) 03:22, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
