The result was keep. We are the English Wikipedia only in the sense that that is the language we use to present knowledge - the knowledge of other languages is just as acceptable Fritzpoll (talk) 13:32, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep, there is no such thing as "not notable in English", see WP:NOTENGLISH, a section of the verifiability policy. The article already demonstrated notability of the subject at the time of citation through multiple citations to Russian and Azeri newspaper articles which cover the subject non-trivially, and hundreds more are available in a google search: Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL. cab (talk) 15:21, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. Ali Baba, I'm willing to withdraw the nomination if you can prove me he's notable. Lida Vorig (talk) 19:39, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Keep, user talk is seems to be loving flagging Azerbaijan articles without knowing the purpose of any of this articles and arguing that is not relevant for English Wikipedia. This user also has have previously warned about flagging Azerbaijani articles. So moderators, should be check her background first before doing any action.--NovaSkola (talk) 21:09, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Again, what is this person's notability? Lida Vorig (talk) 22:04, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. I can only read the Russian, but it says he's famous as an Azeri television personality. They specifically use the words "Знаменитый" - famous. That meets notability. --GRuban (talk) 13:24, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Notable. ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:49, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Notable, well known in Azerbaijan and CIS countries. Grandmaster 20:15, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - there is nothing in the article that suggest this individual is notable. Where are the criteria that is listed here [1]. I'm not going to waste my time searching through the citations - I suspect this is just another one of the hundreds of thousands of articles that Wikipedia would be better off without but which will probably be stuck with - but if those sources do indicate the required criteria exists, why is none of it in the article? - Keep. he is a notable figure in CIS. Neftchi (talk) 10:58, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
