- Delete. To me it looks like a bizarre hoax - many of the bands listed as examples of the genre are mainstream bands accepted as various other types of rock and metal. - Delete WP:HOAX. Several of these bands formed before emo's early bands (Rites of Spring, Sunny Day Real Estate) were even formed. And Dimmu Borgir, Type O Negative and Cradle of Filth are all metal acts, ditto Evanescence (who are closer to Goth Rock if anything).
