Question What is the policy-based rationale for deletion? Have you considered alternatives to deletion? I agree this looks well-researched, so finding the best the place for this topic (psychology of uniforms?) is a matter of moving the article to a better title or possibly merging, not deletion. --{{u|Mark viking}} {Talk} 16:14, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as a WP:neologism that hasn't caught on. A more general topic (Clothing's effect on the wearer's mental state?) could be viable, but IMO, it's better to blow this article up and start afresh. Clarityfiend (talk) 09:09, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rename (and develop): Hmm, it seems there is a topic here (Psychological functions of clothing?) but its name has not stabilised. I see from Google Scholar that there are titles like "Self-consciousness and clothing", and "Clothing as communication", both quite close to the current topic.

Perhaps useful is the paper "Clothing Interest: Conceptualization and Measurement" which discusses "dimensions" of inquiry with respect to interest in clothes including "Concern with Personal Appearance, Experimenting with Appearance, Heightened Awareness of Clothes, Clothing as Enhancement of Security, and Clothing as Enhancement of Individuality". These might form sections of the article.

One option is to Merge to Clothing#Functions, leaving a redirect, as the article is quite short and rather heavily based on Adam & Galinsky 2012. Another is just to develop the article further from the other sources. Open to discussion. Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:31, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
