The result was keep. No consensus to delete. Weak consensus to merge but no consensus for a target. That can be discussed on the article's talk page (non-admin closure) Ron Ritzman (talk) 00:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

completely unreferenced essay on a piece of technology that may or may not be notable but it's impossible to tell due to the lack of [[]] links, WP:RS and the essay format of the article. HJMitchell You rang? 16:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Milling machine. Tevildo (talk) 17:13, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Delete or Redirect hmmm, has anybody worked out that there would never be a machine called a horizontal boring machine, or is this article just POV? A bloke called AndrewConvosMy Messies 20:26, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. Horizontal boring machines are already covered at Milling machine#Other milling machine variants and terminology. It's certainly not impossible that they could get their own article at some stage. But I don't think that stage has been reached yet. Tevildo (talk) 20:34, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Our coverage of topics like this is very incomplete. The best way to encourager expansion is to have separate articles for the major types of machinery. DGG (talk) 00:04, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy Keep The nominator is expected to do the initial screening work per WP:BEFORE. AFD is not cleanup. Colonel Warden (talk) 09:24, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge with Boring (mechanical). (I'm unsure whether they come under Milling machine or they are just similar.) Holkingers (talk) 13:17, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge - deserves mention in Milling machine but I tend to think the technology from 1981 (the Cites copyright) has advanced somewhat. Especially when you consider Boring (mechanical) states "boring is the process of enlarging a hole that has already been drilled"... are we to expect a Horizontal drilling machine next? - comment - Horizontal drilling already redirs to Directional drilling so merges seem to not be uncommon here. Exit2DOS2000•T•C• 07:11, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I have added a citation to a source published in 2007. There are hundreds of sources avaialble for this topic whose notability seems beyond doubt. Colonel Warden (talk) 09:06, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I Agree the Topic is notable, but the fact that this article is about a single direction of boring does not make it Independently notable from the overall topic of Boring. merge. Exit2DOS2000•T•C• 10:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep or merge. Being a stub is not a reason to delete. Maybe a reason to merge, but it seems this is a stub that can expand, per User:Colonel Warden's sources. Doesn't really matter if it expands as a seperate article or a section in a parent article.YobMod 09:17, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep per DGG but not Colonel Warden. Merge would also be fine, but there is sufficient source material that a spinout would be needed eventually anyway. - 2/0 (formerly Eldereft) (cont.) 15:31, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
