- The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the article below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the article's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.
The result was speedy close. "Merge and delete" can't be done due to GFDL licencing issues, and no in this AfD seems to be asking this article to be deleted. Please discuss merge on the article talk page. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 08:32, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Merge and Delete:First of all, besides that no other version specific internet explorer page exists,If there is a page for Internet explorer 7,why not Firefox 2 then, its as well known, and even more critically acclaimed Rodrigue 14:53, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge into Internet Explorer. The consensus on whether to merge is going on at Talk:Internet Explorer 7#Requested merge with Internet Explorer --soumtalk 14:59, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy close, if you want something merged, then discuss it on the talk page. Don't start an AFD. Recury 15:01, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Well I realize there was a discussion on the talk page, but most of the people there werent voting on wether or not to merge it and just added a comment about it to the discussion, and the last comment was 4 days ago, even though it would seem like a major discussion.and anyway, deleting and merging are the same thing,an AFD is just a more official way of saying that it shouldn't be a seperate article than just discussing on the talk page Rodrigue 15:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: The voting was still on, and the previous votes were there as well. You could have (and still can) added your vote there. --soumtalk 18:19, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see, well anyway this page is about deleting internet explorer, not this page itself. If people feel it shouldnt be listed as an AFD even though it may be deleted anyway, they can go to the talk page, but here is about deleting internet explorer 7. 64.229.203.92 18:33, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose The page covers IE7 with content not duplicated on other IE pages, and is an important subject. Digita 00:06, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep; ie7 is very different than previous versions. -Indolences 00:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Well if it wants to be explained further and as detailed as this one; a new firefox 2 article with deep research can be started as well. Since the version 2 is quite new, (then a 7th version as an example) someone hasn't written yet. Then all Photoshop versions should be united as one, and all Windows versions and then all Godfather series, Star Wars series etc.. Quite useless deletion and merge request IMHO. - Merge and Delete - Plain silly to have an article about a specific version of a program with nothing special but a spiffy interface and some 'new' functions. --Nyp 19:58, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge with Internet Explorer and Redirect--GCFreak2 05:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge per above. Contains some valuable information but having a standalone article for each version number of a particular piece of software is silly. Arkyan • (talk) 16:17, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Close No valid nomination reason given, nomination isn't even asking for an actual deletion. If you're having problems getting the discussion organized, try WP:PM. FrozenPurpleCube 16:53, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - IE7 represents a substantial change from previous versions of IE and there are sufficient reliable sources of information with which to write a good article about it. --Born2x 17:31, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge with the main article unless similar articles are created on the other versions. 23skidoo 18:51, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Why? IE7 represents a paradigm shift. 5, 5.5, and 6 were relatively minor and could be characterized as "oh, I guess it's time for a version number". 4 and 7 were complete changes. There is plenty of information about both from which articles can be written. --Born2x 19:22, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge and Delete I have read the article along with the long list of new modifications, features and improvements. There are significant changes from the kernel interface point of view, but they do not change the program's purpose, or the goals of the Microsoft IE program.Raazer 20:49, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Speedy close. Afd is not for merge suggestions. "Merge and delete" is not a possible outcome. It doesn't even make sense to delete — this would be useful as a redirect whether or not their was a history under it. --- RockMFR 21:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- mer mer mer mer - oh bugger my IE 7 script box is broken. Guy (Help!) 22:17, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep, as per Born2x. --Carioca 22:23, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- keep Merge is as much the loss of a separate article as a delete is, and in practice usually leads to a loss of much of the more specific information.DGG 03:36, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
