- Comment: I think the policies that cover this are: Wikipedia is not a directory and Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Also these links appear 3 times on the Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided. akaDruid (talk) 13:17, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: I must point out that I see no evidence of it being a spam target. Furthermore, this article does not fall under any of the points in Wikipedia is not a directory, a list is NOT always a directory. WP:ELNO Does not appear to apply here either. My only concern is that the article may not be encyclopaedic yet you've not raised this as a reason for deletion. --Hm2k (talk) 15:06, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - Seems like spam to me. TomCat4680 (talk) 00:11, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Can you please clarify exactly what you are identifying as spam. I am seeing no evidence of spam. --Hm2k (talk) 08:22, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It appears you have misquoted and/or misunderstood the policy. It DOES NOT state or suggest that "Wikipedia is not a directory of services". --Hm2k (talk) 09:53, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: I'm not an experienced enough wikipedia editor/writer to really know how to treat this article best, but I can attest to the usefulness of this article. I am a small business owner and will be implementing an email to sms gateway. It is good to know what the texting emails are to the main service providers. On Wikipedia, I know this list will always be up-to-date, which will help me keep my customer's happy. Thanks, Nick 173.21.150.128 (talk) 19:33, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: The company I work for provides severe weather alert phone calls, alert emails, and also SMS alerts, but the latter indirectly by sending an email to a phone's email address to be converted. I frequently refer customers to this list to help them set up alerts via text message. I don't believe that listing company names here functions as an advertisement, since anyone referring to the list is already going to be looking for their own carrier specifically. - Comment: THIS PAGE IS EXTREMELY USEFULL AND IT RECIEVES MANY VIEWS FROM GOOGLE AND IS A VALUABLE RESOURCE. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO DELETE THIS. DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO. - Ross
- Comment: Agreed-- this is an incredibly useful resource, and it would be a shame for it to be removed.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrwood (talk • contribs) 01:14, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I also am not well informed as to Wikipedia policy. I will say that this article has provided a wealth of information to me also. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.123.29.35 (talk) 21:30, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
