Hmm, the very long coverage it FT would normally qualify for GNG purposes, but the author's declaration at the end of that article that she intends to turn it into a feuilleton with follow-up articles about the entrepreneur makes me doubt that coverage of the company is the true intent of that FT article. I'm not sure what to say about the prize-focused coverage in CTB; the previous year's winner NuMat Technologies doesn't have an article and neither does the Clean Energy Challenge (the prize/competition); a bit of googling on the latter found [1] which shows that they offer more than one award/category per year. If it's judged not notable enough by itself, it could be merged with solar-powered flashlight, which seems to be general category for this line of product [2] "And because they pack thin and flat, 50 LuminAIDs can be shipped in the space needed for just eight regular solar flashlights." Frankly even their social enterprise aspect (buy one, another goes to the needy) isn't new. The exact same scheme was done by a company called SunNight Solar with their BoGo light (fount it mentioned in a book [3]) and has its own, albeit somewhat less impressive press coverage NYT, Newsweek, [4], Time, CNET, NPR, [5]. It just goes to show how little research journalists put into stories these days before declaring something totally unprecedented (reminds me of #lazyjournos). Very weak keep at the moment. It seems that FT and BBC sources may satisfy WP:GNG. At the same time, if the winning of these minor awards stays the single event and no real progress to commercialize that product would be made, it would be better to merge into solar-powered flashlight as suggested by Someone not using his real name.
