- Weak keep. He seems to be notable for more than just music, so I'm looking at WP:BASIC more than MUSICBIO. I think he just passes GNG (or maybe more clearly passes WP:BASIC due to:

- In summary: there is lots of coverage, especially around 1999 2000 visible via ProQuest. The article includes a fair claim of notability as one of the few players of an instrument in the whole western world. His immigration and housing situation was making news more recently. I see him as notable.

- Keep. Article does need improved sourcing, but he clearly passes NMUSIC, as he's got at least two nominations for major national music awards (the Canadian Folk Music Award and the Juno Award) under his belt; note that the Juno Awards are even explicitly named in NMUSIC #8 as one of the canonical examples of an award that passes it ("such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award"), making it absolutely impossible for anybody who had actually read NMUSIC to miss. And as noted above, better sourcing does exist out there to fix the current sourcing problems with. Bearcat (talk) 16:25, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep as passes WP:NMUSIC as explained above and has reliable sources coverage to pass WP:GNG so that deletion is unnecessary in my view, Atlantic306 (talk) 21:38, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep. The article subject passes WP:NMUSIC as the relevant policy guideline, as demonstrated by significant coverage in independent secondary reliable source media for the purposes of showing notability. Shawn Teller (talk) 20:48, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Keep - while a poorly sourced article (and needs to be trimmed per WP:VERIFY if kept), the Juno award puts him over the GNG barrier.Onel5969 TT me 19:49, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
