I googled this expression and got two hits--one of which was this entry. The expression is not in use and seems to be only a means of listing a few favorite authors. The question of quality authorship is addressed in more and better places than this. Elijahmeeks 15:57, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, this is along the line of Harold Bloom's ideas about the "Western Canon". While I do agree that there indeed are, so to speak, "supreme" authors- others would certainly disagree with me re who belongs to this esteemed group.
