Self-promotion by Tom Morton using anonymous IP 195.93.21.*, who has also edited Blackpool (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) and West Looe (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) and other articles to add himself. This article, as written, is badly titled and is not about pi world records. -- Curps 21:43, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It's not self promotion when I will be making history... -- unsigned comment by User:195.93.21.104
- You got an online BBC article [1] and about your failed 1998 attempt to beat the world record (you memorized 15,000 places and the world record at the time was about 42,000 and is probably considerably higher today), and also a one-sentence mention in the Guardian [2]. You also got a 26-minute documentary about you [3] that isn't even listed in IMDB and was apparently only released as a bonus attached to another DVD. Fair enough, I'm not nominating Tom Morton or Tom, une mémoire prodigieuse for deletion even though I think your main talent is self-promotion. But could you kindly stop spamming links to your article and the film article in other pages. The Word Record Pi page, if needed, should be titled Pi memorization or something like that, and should be a general article, not yet another article about you. -- Curps 21:50, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
- I see you have now created Whitesides (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) also, which you created as yet another article about yourself. I have edited it. -- Curps 22:00, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

- Speedy delete as vanity. He's created lots of other (dubious) articles to talk about himself, this one has nothing to do with the subject title. Ifnord 22:45, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy delete as admitted vanity. Mark K. Bilbo 23:39, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete vanity and non-notable (not even the first-placed person would qualify IMO) Just zis Guy, you know? [T]/[C] (W) AfD? 11:38, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

- Rewrite article and keep - Should be a list documenting the world record, and possibly including attempts. I see no reason not to include Tom's attempt, but it shouldn't be the sole reason for this page. Zordrac 13:45, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
