Function overview: Replaces DYKHousekeepingBot 2 (permission) and MusikBot 6 (permission), extension of GalliumBot 4
Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Programming language(s): Python
Source code available: yep, see userpage
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): duplicating two existing tasks, literally the same thing just on different code

Estimated number of pages affected: two, Template talk:Did you know and Wikipedia:Did you know/DYK hook count
Namespace(s): Template talk and Wikipedia
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): no, not necessary
Function details: GalliumBot 4 (transfem) is up and running following the previous BRFA to replace WugBot 2 with added functionality, shuttling nomination transclusions between Template talk:Did you know (DYKN) and Template talk:Did you know/Approved (DYKNA). In the course of getting it off the ground, I was told there was actually a third bot on DYKN (MusikBot running TDYKRotate) doing a daily move of the "Current nominations" header, and that my bot was conflicting with it. I stopped my bot from running around midnight to keep it from doing that. Also, I noted to Shubinator a few weeks ago that DYKHousekeepingBot's task to update Wikipedia:Did you know/DYK hook count stops tallying nominations when they fail to transclude due to the PEIS limit. They responded that they knew about the issue, but that individually checking every nomination page would be too computationally expensive for that task. But, GalliumBot does have to individually check every nomination page in order to run transfem, so it doesn't cost anything extra for it to maintain a more reliable count. In other words, it would be way more efficient for my bot to take over both of these tasks, since it's already doing all of the checking and editing. I do feel a little silly coming here for this, but since it's technically new code and not just a maintainer handoff, I felt I had to – please tell me if I don't need to! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 04:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

editYeah, this would be subject to BRFA, as approvals are specific to operator and task.
That said, Speedily Approved. as both these takeovers seem fine (DYKHousekeepingBot 2, MusikBot 6). Please coordinate the takeover with (Shubinator, MusikAnimal) respectively. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 10:12, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
