The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Animated crossover television series. (non-admin closure) – 🌻 Hilst (talk | contribs) 01:23, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Better title, to match the name with some subcategories of Category:Crossover fiction like Category:Animated crossover films or Category:Crossover drama television series. 2803:C600:8101:CB73:B0A1:5B89:7F0F:2F9D (talk) 18:33, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename and merge. There is no consensus to abolish a category of Native American mathematicians; therefore we will rename as nominated. However, there is no reason against also adding the contents into the current parent Category:21st-century Native American scientists, and therefore that will be done as well. – Fayenatic London 20:16, 9 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Underpopulated category without a parent category. I think we should rename/reparent this to Native American mathematicians SMasonGarrison 17:10, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: no consensus. Thorough discussion; unlikely a relist would break the logjam. At the same time, nobody smells of roses after this discussion. Do better next time. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 01:24, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Either merge to the parent category under EGRS as non-defining intersection of specific health occupation, OR split to Black British psychologists and Black British psychotherapists. Personally, I'm leaning downs upmerge. SMasonGarrison 13:25, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge, trivial intersection. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:21, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per above --Lenticel (talk) 00:57, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • KEEP - The rationale and need for this category are so glaringly obvious, even by the strictest of standards, that I am shaking my head in wonderment. "Non-defining"? "Trivial intersection"? Seriously people?? This betrays utter unawareness of the real-world issues that shape how Black minorities in white societies like the UK & the US perceive and deal with psychology and mental health issues in particular. I thought this was fairly well-known. (For a small taste of one aspect of this subject, people might want to read the Intro to the article Black psychology.)
Please note that we do, of course, have the corresponding US Category:African-American psychologists, many of whom are presumably psychotherapists. I broadened this Category to include both because they are closely related and I'm mindful that the numbers are on the small side. Anomalous+0 (talk) 23:01, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Further comment: While I do think it's preferable to keep these articles in one category, as I outlined above, I would nonetheless be amenable to splitting them into two sub-cats if that is deemed absolutely necessary. Anomalous+0 (talk) 09:10, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Good grief. I appreciate that you are trying to be helpful, Fayenatic. But the very fact that we are even having this discussion is very troubling. It illustrates how poorly the circumstances of Black people are understood and acknowledged in both of our countries. And it also points to the very low rate of participation on Wikipedia by Black editors, especially here at CFD.
Like I said above, the two paragraphs in the Intro to the article Black psychology offer a small taste of one aspect of the subject. I also pointed out the related Category:African-American psychologists, many of whom belong to the Association of Black Psychologists. Another Wiki article you could have a look at is Obstacles to receiving mental health services among African American youth#Clinician and therapeutic factors, which again sheds some light on one aspect of the subject. (It has lots of citations.) Unfortunately, that seems to be the only direct coverage of the subject area (Black mental health, etc.) on Wiki - no doubt because of the low participation rate of Black editors. I should add that many of the same kinds of issues also arise in the context of Black maternal health, which led to the formation of the Black Maternal Health Caucus in the US. Anomalous+0 (talk) 12:11, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Fayenatic london: Can you please re-list this CFD? Thanx. Anomalous+0 (talk) 08:17, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Black mental health in the UK - It dawned on me that the very articles I placed in this category were likely to have helpful info. And sure enough, I hit paydirt with the article I chose to look at first, about the eminent Black British psychiatrist Aggrey Burke - particularly the section on Psychiatry and mental health in the UK. I am sure he would be appalled to see this issue described as a "Trivial intersection". Anomalous+0 (talk) 08:15, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    • No, that section is about patients rather than practitioners. – Fayenatic London 08:54, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
      First of all, the section - and the article - is also about his experience as the first Black British psychiatrist, highlighting his work with Black patients. Beyond that, what you said is a very nit-picking distinction, as it's all one package. Are you seriously suggesting that Black psychotherapists aren't better positioned to establish helpful therapeutic relationships with their Black patients? Did you completely miss the following passages:
"When treating West Indian people with mental illness, he used his familiarity with key Jamaican role models including Marcus Garvey, Bob Marley and the Rastafarian movement. In one study concerning black people in Birmingham, he reported a 100 per cent response rate once they were made aware that the research team were also black."
In any event, will you please re-list this CFD? Anomalous+0 (talk) 09:37, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that link. We would need to have a fair number of articles about notable Black British psychiatrists in order to justify such a sub-category. At present, Aggrey Burke appears to be the only one with an article. Anomalous+0 (talk) 11:52, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As well as Aggrey Burke, others who might qualify for that sub-category are Kwame McKenzie, Shubulade Smith and Tade Thompson. Proscribe (talk) 13:41, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for those links, I will take another look at those articles. Probably not enough to justify a new sub-cat, though IMO. Anomalous+0 (talk) 01:27, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Justus Nussbaum: It's gone up to 9 articles now. Anomalous+0 (talk) 03:15, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Should be renamed per WP:NONDEF. Current title doesn't specify whether it just includes motorsports in a non-defining way. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 09:26, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Never more than 10 articles per year, it is to narrow to be useful categorising sports events in Kazakhstan by year and month. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 09:08, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
