Gene prediction (history · last edit). Here is an interesting situation. The fourth paragraph of the introduction in this paper in In Silico Biology is essentially identical to various parts of the Wikipedia article. However, one can look at the revision history and see that the relevant passages were added to Wikipedia in June 2005, while the paper was submitted more than a year later, in August 2006. At face value, it appears that either the journal paper borrowed from Wikipedia, or alternatively that they both borrowed from some third source. --Infinity34 19:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
