There is a free alternative to this image here. It should be deleted. Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 01:52, 8 August 2025 (UTC)

Fails WP:NFCC#8 as image of one of the karts he used does not significantly enhance the article. Especially in a article that has more than enough free images in it anyway. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:14, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- There are no illustrations of the subject in that category; the free images elsewhere are irrelevant to this one. It is additionally used to show the origin of his Formula One racing number: 81. MB2437 22:16, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- So we don't use a kart photo then, not the end of the world. That's the NFCC compliant thing to do. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:27, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- Except it isn't non-compliant—removal would be detrimental to the reading experience and understanding of his national karting career. The vast majority of readers are unaware of the funding and scale of kart racing events and view it as kids in indoor pedal carts, not a professional sport, which is disproven in the image with the full competitive field and era-relevant technology in view. - The image doesn't show the funding or scale of kart racing events. The only thing the image shows is that Piastri once led an outdoor karting race involving at least 15 drivers. It doesn't improve the readers understanding of karting, or Piastri's karting history, beyond the relatively detailed prose already present. SSSB (talk) 08:01, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

Does not significantly improve the article, so fails WP:NFCC#8. We do not require a photo of every car he ever drove, the free images we have suffice. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:28, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- The entire section is about his testing previous generation Formula One cars, which is a crucial part of his career and notably took a year away from racing to do so. As clearly stated in the non-free use rationale, there are no free alternatives to this; we additionally have no images of his career with Alpine. MB2437 23:31, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- Strongly disagree that it was a "crucial part of his career". He didn't do much of encylopdic value. The "entire section" you talk about is quite small (2 paragraphs) and an image of him driving an Alpine doesn't add anything to the article. The article already explains he drove for Alpine. Another WP:NFCC#8 violation as doesn't significantly enhance the article. Contrary to what this user says, we don't need photos of every car and kart someone drove. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:33, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hard disagree with this one—much more so than others. The image displays his infamous karting rivalry with Verstappen, which is of widespread sourced discussion.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] MB2437 23:36, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- But we don't need an image for that. We can just say they had a rivalry within the relevant articles. And the image doesn't "show" a rivalry. It shows they happened to be in the same karting race in 2013. That doesn't make a rivarly. SSSB (talk) 07:50, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
