Good article mentors provide assistance and feedback to editors who are new to reviewing. If you are interested in reviewing but are not sure where to start, requesting a mentor can make the process easier. To request a mentor, press the button below and follow the instructions.

Mentors can:

  • Help find an article suitable for a new reviewer to review
  • Explain any of the good article criteria and how to assess them
  • Check a review to make sure it was done correctly
  • Answer any other questions about how to review a good article nomination

Mentors are not expected to complete any part of the review. Mentorship is optional, and you do not have to request a mentor to begin reviewing.

Mentors ()

This is a list of users who have volunteered to be good article mentors. If you wish to choose a specific mentor, you can leave a message on one of their talk pages. Remember that not all of them might be active or be able to help at any given time.

If you're an experienced reviewer, you can add your name! You do not need to be on this list to answer a request for mentorship. Mentors are encouraged to add the mentorship page to their watchlist.

I would like to review more articles, but don't yet feel confident in being the first reviewer. I mostly edit women's biographies or about heritage, so am most familiar with those topics.

I'm willing to mentor you. I think the best way to learn is by doing and that you are more than ready to review an article for GA. I would recommend finding an article, completing a first review (I like to use {{subst:GAList2}}), and then pinging me to give a second opinion. My past reviews are at User:Voorts/GAN review log if you'd like to see how I review articles. voorts (talk/contributions) 23:43, 24 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I started editing Wikipedia 1 year ago, and have submitted an article for GA review. I would like to start doing GA reviews to help contribute to the community, but need some guidance. I am interested in reviewing articles on almost any subject, except for overly-technical ones like science and medicine.

Mentorship Request for the Reviewing Process

edit

Hello! I'd like to request a reviewer.

For a bit about my history with reviewing –

  • I started one review sometime around 2022 (for the page Richard Gerald Jordan), but after getting maybe 60% of the way through the review, I became overwhelmed with the whole process and needed to reach out for help/second opinions. I cannot remember which part of the process in particular felt the most overwhelming to me; I vaguely remember being confused and overwhelmed with images. I don't remember having any issues with confirming the veracity of sources. In the case of the Richard Gerald Jordan article, ultimately, another more experienced reviewer completed the process.
  • I have nominated one article I extensively worked on for GA (Murder of Peter Weinberger), and it was approved in June 2022. (I would like to nominate maybe 2-3 other articles soon, but it felt fairer to try to help with completing some reviews first.)
  • I chose to request a reviewer through this mentorship process because I was hoping this process may make the process seem less overwhelming, and easier to grasp and learn from, compared to the first time I tried it and just dove in alone.

Topics/subjects I am open to reviewing (in no particular order):

Thanks so much for any help possible! :)
