Wikipedia is not a webhost- User has just been indefinitely blocked for their disruptive editing among other things. Draft is entirely unsourced, and contains many instances of original research and trivial things. Since the creation of the draft in January 2017, the user in question is the only one who's edited it except for the few IPs and two other users- one in 2017 and one in 2019. - Keep. Not unsourced. Plausibly notable, although unlikely. MfD is not for examining notability of drafts, or for drawing attention to hopeless things. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:26, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- @SmokeyJoe: Not sure what you mean by, "Not unsourced"... I'm looking at the draft and in its current state, the draft is definitely 100% unsourced- whether things can be sourced or not is an entirely different thing, I'm saying that the content currently here is unsourced. I also find it highly unlikely that there will be any sources for most of the things in the history section, they seem like things that are added that you would only know the date if you happen to check the app every single day (Such as when Nickelodeon airs a new episode of a show- the new episode is then usually added on the next day). The infobox is also WAY too excessive.
- Also worth noting that Noggin (brand)#Mobile applications exists- not that this means an article on the mobile app itself isn't allowed, just noting that this section exists with sources covering some information about it, which can be helpful for this draft. - The draft links to the company website and that counts as a "source".
- I recommend speedy redirect (WP:SRE) to Noggin (brand)#Mobile applications. This draft is an unjustified spinout. Justification requires some discussion of it at Talk:Noggin (brand). The draft author may be unaware of Noggin (brand), and the redirect will inform him. This is a prime example of where a newcomer should work with the existing articles first, long before attempting to write new pages. However, there is no reason to delete. See WP:ATD. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:06, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
- @SmokeyJoe: Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated. Would just like to clarify a few things:
- "The draft author may be unaware of Noggin (brand)" - Definitely aware of the article, considering they've edited it in 2019 and even edited the mobile app section in 2018.
- "the redirect will inform him" - Can of course appeal the block, but is now indefinitely blocked, so really wouldn't matter that much.
- "prime example of where a newcomer should work with the existing articles first" - The user started editing in 2016, so wouldn't really consider them that 'new' at this point. Either way, worth pointing out that they'd previously been editing Noggin (app), which was merged to be the mobile app section on the Noggin (brand) article. This draft was created in 2017 by the user. The original 'Noggin (app)' article was merged in January 2017, after a discussion was started in August 2016 with no replies to the discussion.
- Thanks for your previous info again, this will all definitely be helpful in figuring out what to do about the draft. Magitroopa (talk) 00:59, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Magitroopa. The user is only recently blocked, and it is the sort of block that is easily reversed by acknowledging their mistake with a promise to not do it again. The author being blocked is not a good reason to delete their edit history. I recommend not using MfD to manage drafts except if there is an active and explicit dispute. Unsubmitted drafts are not worthy of MfD, unless there is a WP:NOT deletion rationale, and your "Wikipedia is not a webhost" allegation I reject because the page is intended for WikiPedia. In this case I recommend redirection to the article, with the edit summary "unjustified spinout, talk at Talk:Noggin (brand)". Alternatively, ignore the draft and leave for G13. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 01:10, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
