The result of the discussion was: procedural close. Nomination at RfD may now proceed. El_C 01:52, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
I'm listing this here because although it's a redirect as I write it keeps getting turned into a help page. I declined a speedy delete request last October because it didn't meet any speedy-deletion criterion, but the reason given for deletion ("it is copied from Egyptian Arabic and Hejazi Arabic which are separate dialects with separate phonologies") may be correct, though it is not identical to the Hijazi page. I can't comment on the accuracy or otherwise of the guidance as I have little familiarity with Saidi Arabic (and my Hijazi is pretty rusty these days). I note that, like many similar pages, it has no references whatsoever. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:44, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

MergeRedirect to Help:IPA, per the talk page, WP:MOSPRON#Other languages, and the discussion at Help talk:IPA#Unused language-specific IPA help pages. Even if this were accurate information, it is not acting like a language-specific transcription key because there are no Saidi Arabic transcriptions that link here on Wikipedia. If the user in question continues to edit war by undoing the merge without meaningful discussion, we can consider sanctions for edit warring and article ownership. — Ƶ§œš¹ [lɛts b̥iː pʰəˈlaɪˀt] 17:40, 2 February 2020 (UTC)- @Aeusoes1: What do you mean by "Merge"? I don't see any content to be moved to the parent page. I suppose you mean redirect. Nardog (talk) 17:50, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- Oh yes, you're right. Redirect. — Ƶ§œš¹ [lɛts b̥iː pʰəˈlaɪˀt] 20:33, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

- Redirect to Help:IPA. Sefarat90 doesn't seem to want to improve the guide. Should they change their mind, [1] will still be available to them to work on. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 21:37, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- Procedural Close - This is, or at least looks like, a redirect. This should be at Redirects for Discussion. Is Twinkle putting this in the wrong XFD bin, or is the result of the nominator not using Twinkle? Robert McClenon (talk) 18:38, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Neither, Robert McClenon – as above, I listed it here because although it was a redirect when I started this, it keeps getting turned into a help page (slow edit war) and I couldn't guarantee that wouldn't happen again during an RfD discussion. It would be helpful if this could be kept open long enough for a consensus to be reached, so a premature procedural close would be about the worst possible outcome; I do see your point, though. Oh, and Twinkle didn't stop me from creating this here. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:20, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Justlettersandnumbers, If there's an edit war, then you should request page protection. El C, can you look into this? I'm inclined to agree with Robert McClenon; this should go to RfD, and then an appropriate level of page protection should be implemented for 7 days to allow the RfD to play out. (Pinging El C because they is responsive to their pings.) Doug Mehus T·C 01:39, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
