Updates for editors
- All logged-in editors using the mobile view can now edit a full page. The "Modifica pagina intera" link is accessible from the "Altro" menu in the toolbar. This was previously only available to editors using the Advanced mobile contributions setting. [1]
- Interface administrators can now help to remove the deprecated Cite CSS code matching "
mw-ref" from their local MediaWiki:Common.css. The list of wikis in need of cleanup, and the code to remove, can be found with this global search and in this example, and you can learn more about how to help on the CSS migration project page. The Cite footnote markers ("[1]") are now rendered by Parsoid, and the deprecated CSS is no longer needed. The CSS for backlinks ("mw:referencedBy") should remain in place for now. This cleanup is expected to cause no visible changes for readers. Please help to remove this code before March 20, after which the development team will do it for you. - When editors embed a file (e.g.
[[File:MediaWiki.png]]) on a page that is protected with cascading protection, the software will no longer restrict edits to the file description page, only to new file uploads.[2] In contrast, transcluding a file description page (e.g.{{:File:MediaWiki.png}}) will now restrict edits to the page.[3] - When editors revert a file to an earlier version it will now require the same permissions as ordinarily uploading a new version of the file. The software now checks for 'reupload' or 'reupload-own' rights,[4] and respects cascading protection.[5]
- When administrators are listing pages for deletion with the Nuke tool, they can now also list associated talk pages and redirects for deletion, alongside pages created by the target, rather than needing to manually delete these pages afterwards. [6]
- The previously noted update to Single User Login, which will accommodate browser restrictions on cross-___domain cookies by moving login and account creation to a central ___domain, will now roll out to all users during March and April. The team plans to enable it for all new account creation on Group0 wikis this week. See the SUL3 project page for more details and an updated timeline.
- Since last week there has been a bug that shows some interface icons as black squares until the page has fully loaded. It will be fixed this week. [7]
- One new wiki has been created: a Wikipedia in Sylheti (
w:syl:) [8] 
View all 23 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, a bug was fixed with loading images in very old versions of the Firefox browser on mobile. [9]

Guardate cosa ho scoperto! Usarlo in alcuni casi semplifica parecchio i CSS, però visto che è una funzione CSS nuova (e non pienamente supportata), ho anteposto una versione precedente per compatibilità. Ho aggiornato Template:PD-Italia/Commons e Template:PD-ItaliaGov/Commons. L'ombreggiatura in modalità scura era credo impossibile da rendere in tutte e due le versioni senza dover creare per forza il foglio di stile. — $ZandDev ↩ 14:06, 19 feb 2025 (CET)

Errore modalità scura in Mercurio (elemento chimico)

- Il problema affligge tutte le voci che includono il template {{elemento chimico}}. Curiosamente, sembra che il template responsabile della creazione la tabella non ne sia esso stesso affetto: viene usato nella sua pagina delle istruzioni, e rimane visibile se passo alla modalità scura (anche se comunque il testo del simbolo chimico rimane nero-su-nero, quindi qualcosa da aggiustare c'è). -- Rojelio (dimmi tutto) 16:48, 6 mar 2025 (CET)
- [@ Marcomarcomarcomarco, Rojelio] Aprendo la scheda "Analizza" del browser si può verificare che gli stili applicati dal template sono sovrascritti dalla skin con la keyword !important. Blocco Temporaneo utenti non registrati
La modifica della trama di Una boccata d'aria(film) e' stata annullata da uno dei filtri automatici per errore del CMS di wikipedia. Il livello del filtro per gli utenti non registrati di Wikipedia, a prescindere che il testo delle loro modifiche non possa piacere, andrebbe corretto. Credo riguardi la richiesta di fonti, dato che il CMS di Wikipedia li richiedeva in continuazione per ogni singolo capoverso (anche perché il CMS non e' in grado di valutare autonomamente un testo - al massimo da un amministratore possono essere inseriti dei termini considerati osceni o di cattivo gusto). Ora capisco che occorre citare delle fonti, ma il CMS li richiedeva per ogni singolo capoverso in modo eccessivo. Fino poi ad imporre un blocco temporaneo all'IP provvisorio dell"ISP. Probabilmente coloro i quali gestiscono i permessi di lettura e di scrittura della pagina avranno alzato le misure di sicurezza nei confronti degli utenti non registrati più del dovuto a discapito della fruibilità del servizio.

A causa di problemi economici, Salvo sta per perdere la pizzeria che gestisce a Milano (Il gelso). Suo padre è morto di recente.
Il figlio Enzo non vuole seguire le orme paterne e vuole fare il tecnico del suono. Ha anche una moglie (Teresa) ed una figlia (Emma).
Dopo aver tentanto invano di sanare i propri debiti chiedendo del denaro agli strozzini ed aver avuto un sogno premonitore a seguito di un incidente con un monopattino (dove il padre lo insultava definendolo, come quando era in vita, <<una cosa inutile>>), Salvo decide di tornare in Sicilia per l'eredità. Salvo si reca dal notaio (un suo vecchio amico) e secondo il testamento, aperto irritualmente dal notaio senza la presenza del fratello Lillo, gli spetta come quota il 50% del casale di famiglia. Così Salvo decide di vendere il vecchio casale di famiglia per ripagare i propri debiti.
Nel paese natio Salvo incontra il sindaco, intenzionato all'acquisto dell'immobile ed il sindaco gli propone di convincere il fratello Lillo a vendere la sua quota. Una volta raggiunto dai propri familiari (la moglie Teresa, la figlia Emma e il figlio Enzo) Salvo è costretto a presentare i familiari al fratello. A loro volta i membri della famiglia di Salvo non erano a conoscenza dell'esistenza di Lillo. Inoltre Teresa è gelosa di Carmela, una donna del posto di cui Salvo era in passato invaghito e che sempre in passato si era prestata a fare da ragazza copertina ad un vecchio disco inciso in napoletano da Salvo. Carmela ha inoltre un figlio (Fofò), che crede di essere il figlio di Salvo per via del disco di Salvo. Si scopre poi che Fofò non è figlio di Salvo.
Nel frattempo Salvo scopre che la figlia Emma aspetta un figlio.
Enzo, ricevuto un rifiuto di un suo brano da una casa discografica, decide di mixare il brano inciso il passato dal padre Salvo.
Lillo, una volta affezionatosi alla famiglia di Salvo, decide di mettere alla prova Salvo, fingendo di aver accettato la proposta del sindaco e lasciando il destino dell'immobile nelle mani di Salvo.
Attraverso un flashback si scopre che: sia Salvo e sia Lillo quando erano giovani volevano aprire una pizzeria insieme nel casale di famiglia, ma il padre era contrario; anche Lillo voleva scappare di casa con Salvo, ma Salvo al primo impedimento lo aveva abbonato pur di fuggire di casa.
Salvo così si reca negli uffici comunali e scopre che in realtà il sindaco vuole costruire un campo di calcio con correlata tribuna.
Salvo quindi finge di sottoscrivere il preliminare già firmato dal fratello, ma al posto della firma scrive un insulto in siciliano.
Rivelato tutto al fratello Lillo (non prima di venire però alle mani), Salvo e la sua famiglia durante una cena (con Lillo, Carmela e Fofò) decidono di restare, di vendere l'immobile di Milano e di creare una pizzeria tutti insieme nel casale di famiglia in Sicilia. Enzo dichiara al padre Salvo di rimanere a lavorare con il resto della famiglia nella futura pizzeria del padre, ma di voler tentare anche la carriera di tecnico del suono.

- @Titore grazie per il link sulla documentazione riguardo ai vostri filtri. In generale "la trama" che ha creato il blocco temporaneo dell'IP e' proprio quella allegata. Come ho letto nel documento che tu hai allegato via link <<anche il filtro anti abusi può sbagliare. Se un provvedimento grave viene preso per errore, si può segnalare il problema in Wikipedia:Richieste agli amministratori...>> Inoltre... <<ogni filtro attivo è impegnativo per il sistema, che lo applica ad ogni modifica anche se scatta di rado. Un eccesso di filtri può intasare il sistema, tanto da impedire il funzionamento dei filtri più recenti (questo è già avvenuto su it.wiki), pertanto e' consigliabile non usare i filtri se non è necessario.>>
- In ogni caso sta a voi gestire il Content management system di MediaWiki.
- Riguardo alla modifica della pagina in questione Una boccata d'aria(film) se il moderatore desidera una trama sintetica (forse onde evitare spoiler nell'utente finale) meglio lasciare le cose come stanno.
- Ho notato sulla cronologia della pagina in questione che ci sono stati vari tentativi di modifica da parte di terzi al sottoscritto, poi annullati. Probabilmente e' stato questo a far scattare i filtri in quel modo veramente eccessivo.

Errore modalità scura in Pagina principale
Descrizione del problema Buonasera, desidero segnalare un bug non riscontrato in altre versioni che hanno gia' implementato la modalita' scusa (tipo wikipedia in inglese).
OS: GNU/Linux Ubuntu 24.04 (ma anche da Windows 10)
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 135.0 (ma anche da Chrome)
Descrizione: quando non sono loggato come utente (credo che si chiami modalita' ospite?) seleziono "Scuro" nel tab "Colore (beta)" del pannello "Aspetto". Cio' puo' essere fatto in qualsiasi pagina. Successivamente mi sposto in una nuova pagina, o ricarico quella su cui sono gia'.
Comportamento atteso: la nuova pagina / pagina ricaricata e' leggibile ancora in modalita' scura (la modalita' rimane selezionata).
Comportamento osservato: viene selezionata di nuovo la modalita' chiara, il toggle "Chiaro" viene selezionato.
NOTA: Tale comportamento non avviene quando si e' loggati col proprio utente. Per questo essendo un comportamento difforme lo ritengo un bug.

Updates for editors
- Editors who use password managers at multiple wikis may notice changes in the future. The way that our wikis provide information to password managers about reusing passwords across domains has recently been updated, so some password managers might now offer you login credentials that you saved for a different Wikimedia site. Some password managers already did this, and are now doing it for more Wikimedia domains. This is part of the SUL3 project which aims to improve how our unified login works, and to keep it compatible with ongoing changes to the web-browsers we use. [10][11]
- The Wikipedia Apps Team is inviting interested users to help improve Wikipedia’s offline and limited internet use. After discussions in Afrika Baraza and the last ESEAP call, key challenges like search, editing, and offline access are being explored, with upcoming focus groups to dive deeper into these topics. All languages are welcome, and interpretation will be available. Want to share your thoughts? Join the discussion or email aramadan@wikimedia.org!

- The latest quarterly Growth newsletter is available. It includes: the launch of the Community Updates module, the most recent changes in Community Configuration, and the upcoming test of in-article suggestions for first-time editors.
- An old API that was previously used in the Android Wikipedia app is being removed at the end of March. There are no current software uses, but users of the app with a version that is older than 6 months by the time of removal (2025-03-31), will no longer have access to the Suggested Edits feature, until they update their app. You can read more details about this change.

Colore di sfondo template in pagine di discussione
I template nelle pagine di discussione (come {{Progetti interessati}}, {{Cronologia valutazioni}} e {{Discussione}}) usano una sfumatura di blu che in modalità scura diventa un mattone agli occhi. Si potrebbe fare in modo che i colori bluetti diventino #0d1a27 e i giallini (se presenti in giro) #2e2505, come accade in en.wiki? — $ZandDev ↩ 02:25, 16 mar 2025 (CET)
Firma in template di Wikipedia:Cambusa
Ho notato poco fa in #Correggere piccolo errore che i template {{Cambusa}} e {{Cambusada}} non applicano la firma se essa contiene il carattere =. Esso attualmente va sostituito a mano con la variabile {{=}}. Weekly highlight
- Twice a year, around the equinoxes, the Wikimedia Foundation's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team performs a datacenter server switchover, redirecting all traffic from one primary server to its backup. This provides reliability in case of a crisis, as we can always fall back on the other datacenter. Thanks to the Listen to Wikipedia tool, you can hear the switchover take place: Before it begins, you'll hear the steady stream of edits; Then, as the system enters a brief read-only phase, the sound stops for a couple of minutes, before resuming after the switchover. You can read more about the background and details of this process on the Diff blog. If you want to keep an ear out for the next server switchover, listen to the wikis on March 19 at 14:00 UTC.
Updates for editors
- The improved Content Translation tool dashboard is now available in 10 Wikipedias and will be available for all Wikipedias soon. With the unified dashboard, desktop users can now: Translate new sections of an article; Discover and access topic-based article suggestion filters (initially available only for mobile device users); Discover and access the Community-defined lists filter, also known as "Collections", from wiki-projects and campaigns.
- On Wikimedia Commons, a new system to select the appropriate file categories has been introduced: if a category has one or more subcategories, users will be able to click on an arrow that will open the subcategories directly within the form, and choose the correct one. The parent category name will always be shown on top, and it will always be possible to come back to it. This should decrease the amount of work for volunteers in fixing/creating new categories. The change is also available on mobile. These changes are part of planned improvements to the UploadWizard.
- The Community Tech team is seeking wikis to join a pilot for the Multiblocks feature and a refreshed Special:Block page in late March. Multiblocks enables administrators to impose multiple different types of blocks on the same user at the same time. If you are an admin or steward and would like us to discuss joining the pilot with your community, please leave a message on the project talk page.
- Starting March 25, the Editing team will test a new feature for Edit Check at 12 Wikipedias: Multi-Check. Half of the newcomers on these wikis will see all Reference Checks during their edit session, while the other half will continue seeing only one. The goal of this test is to see if users are confused or discouraged when shown multiple Reference Checks (when relevant) within a single editing session. At these wikis, the tags used on edits that show References Check will be simplified, as multiple tags could be shown within a single edit. Changes to the tags are documented on Phabricator. [12]
- The Global reminder bot, which is a service for notifying users that their temporary user-rights are about to expire, now supports using the localized name of the user-rights group in the message heading. Translators can see the listing of existing translations and documentation to check if their language needs updating or creation.
- The GlobalPreferences gender setting, which is used for how the software should refer to you in interface messages, now works as expected by overriding the local defaults. [13]
- View all 26 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, the Wikipedia App for Android had a bug fixed for when a user is browsing and searching in multiple languages. [14]

Mi rivolgo a voi perché ho notato che con l'allineamento a sinistra del riquadro con le foto, il testo del paragrafo non affianca più il riquadro stesso ma compare sotto, come ad esempio qui. The objectives are broad high-level areas, and the key-results are measurable ways to track the success of their objectives. - The CampaignEvents extension will be released to multiple wikis (see deployment plan for details) in April 2025, and the team has begun the process of engaging communities on the identified wikis. The extension provides tools to organize, manage, and promote collaborative activities (like events, edit-a-thons, and WikiProjects) on the wikis. The extension has three tools: Event Registration, Collaboration List, and Invitation Lists. It is currently on 13 Wikipedias, including English Wikipedia, French Wikipedia, and Spanish Wikipedia, as well as Wikidata. - Starting the week of March 31st, wikis will be able to set which user groups can view private registrants in Event Registration, as part of the CampaignEvents extension. By default, event organizers and the local wiki admins will be able to see private registrants. This is a change from the current behavior, in which only event organizers can see private registrants. Wikis can change the default setup by requesting a configuration change in Phabricator (and adding the #campaigns-product-team tag). Participants of past events can cancel their registration at any time.
- Administrators at wikis that have a customized MediaWiki:Sidebar should check that it contains an entry for the Pagine speciali listing. If it does not, they should add it using

). There was a long-standing bug where an indication for new notifications was only shown if you had unseen Alerts. This bug is now fixed. - VisualEditor has introduced a new client-side hook for developers to use when integrating with the VisualEditor target lifecycle. This hook should replace the existing lifecycle-related hooks, and be more consistent between different platforms. In addition, the new hook will apply to uses of VisualEditor outside of just full article editing, allowing gadgets to interact with the editor in DiscussionTools as well. The Editing Team intends to deprecate and eventually remove the old lifecycle hooks, so any use cases that this new hook does not cover would be of interest to them and can be shared in the task.

mw.ApiJavaScript library, can now identify the tool using it with theuserAgentparameter:var api = new mw.Api( { userAgent: 'GadgetNameHere/1.0.1' } );. If you maintain a gadget or user script, please set a user agent, because it helps with library and server maintenance and with differentiating between legitimate and illegitimate traffic. Tema scuro - Template navbox
Le intestazioni dei Navbox nel namespace template, quando hanno i colori di sfondo di default, diventano illeggibili col tema scuro. Iscrizione automatica alle discussioni
Con il nuovo sistema di discussioni, piuttosto che seguire un'intera pagina (ad esempio Wikipedia:Officina) è possibile seguire una singola discussione (ad esempio Wikipedia:Officina#Iscrizione automatica alle discussioni). Non capisco perché l'iscrizione alle discussioni a cui si partecipa non avviene in automatico. Cioè, se partecipo ad una discussione, nel 99,999% dei casi è implicito che voglia sapere come evolve la discussione, mentre non è detto che voglia seguire tutte le discussioni nella stessa pagina. Non si può fare qualcosa per abilitare l'iscrizione automatica (io direi per tutti)? --Ensahequ (msg) 18:10, 31 mar 2025 (CEST)
- quando apri una discussione o rispondi, in basso trovi "Commenta questa funzionalità" che ti manda alla pagina di discussione della funzionalità su MediaWiki. in passato ci sono state discussioni in cui si menzionava l'iscrizione automatica, ma non ho trovato uno specifico ticket in merito alla tua richiesta (ma lo puoi aprire anche tu, al limite lo segnano come duplicato :) ) --valepert 18:42, 31 mar 2025 (CEST)
- Ciao [@ Ensahequ]! Premesso che non a tutti potrebbe fare piacere essere iscritti alle discussioni e ricevere decine di notifiche/mail (tipo a me personalmente non interesserebbe), c'è già la funzionalità che dici, basta spuntare la casella "Iscrivimi automaticamente agli argomenti" nelle preferenze. Come conseguenza, come anche spiegato nelle preferenze, "riceverai automaticamente una notifica ogni volta che qualcun altro pubblicherà un nuovo commento in una discussione a cui hai dato inizio o hai partecipato". Ti segnalo (come saprai sicuramente già, ma lo ribadisco giusto per promemoria per chi legge) che basta cliccare in alto a destra sulla campanellina con scritto "Iscriviti", e verrai comunque iscritto anche se non sei mai intervenuto :) --Superpes15(talk) 20:44, 31 mar 2025 (CEST)
