Shortcuts

Proposed article mergers is a noticeboard for active discussions to merge articles. Before listing a merge discussion here, read Wikipedia:Merging and initiate a discussion on the article's talk page. Listing an ongoing merge discussion here is purely optional, but can help reach consensus. You can ask for help at the help desk if needed.

If a merge is unlikely to be contested, you can be bold and complete it without initiating a discussion. If your merger is later contested, another editor can revert and discuss it.

This noticeboard is not for:

Proposing article mergers without starting a discussion on the article's talk page;
Discussing merge proposals; a link to the merge discussion should be included in the request. Consensus for a merge should be reached there, not on this noticeboard: comments of support or opposition may be removed.
Listing article splits or moves; see Proposed article splits and Moving a page;
Listing merges for non-article pages; use Categories for discussion and Templates for discussion instead;
Requesting history merges: use Wikipedia:Requests for history merge instead.

Merge SUNY Downstate Medical Center into SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Both articles describe the same institution, which operates under the unified name "SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University" and includes educational components (College of Medicine, School of Public Health, etc.) and University Hospital. The scope of the articles seem slightly different with the latter of the two only discussing educational components. If any arm of the university warrants a seperate article, it would probably be University Hospital, but the SUNY Downstate Medical Center#University Hospital of Brooklyn section seems too scant to stand on its own yet. Merge I propose merging or even redirecting 2024 Men's T20 World Cup group stage, 2024 Men's T20 World Cup Super 8 stage, and 2024 Men's T20 World Cup knockout stage into 2024 Men's T20 World Cup. Merge List of academic fields into Outline of academic disciplines. The lists almost entirely overlap. There was already a merge discussion initiated on both talk pages, but it didn't turn into a merge proposal. The lists are very extensive, and there are significant structural differences that might benefit from discussion and feedback before merging, especially from WP:WPLIST. Merge Huế with Huế (provincial city). With the entirety of Thừa Thiên Huế province being upgraded into a centrally-administered city, the latter article is now both defunct and redundant, and should be merged into the main page. The Climate, Culture and Infrastructure sections have already been copied over and are identical between the two pages, so there's only the Geography and History sections left to be ported over.--Pantegral (talk) 14:51, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Triângulo Mineiro with Triângulo Mineiro e Alto Paranaíba (mesoregion). I recommend merging the Triângulo Mineiro article with the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba (mesoregion) article, as they represent the same geographic area. Merge DWPM to DZMM. The Metro Manila station on 630 kHz that used the DWPM callsign reverts back to the old callsign (DZMM) at 8 PM (Philippine time) of May 29th as per relevant wiki policies on radio station callsigns. Merge Wicked (film franchise) into The Wicked Years. Considering that the film adaptation was originally supposed to be one film before it was split in half, it feels egregious to have an entire page dedicated to the adaptation and to imply that there are more films in the works, especially when Wicked: For Good hasn't even come out yet. A better alternative would be to have a general franchise page with information related to the original novels, the stage musical, and the two-part film. Although the musical and film adaptations are more closely tied to each other than the novels, all three share the same general plot, characters, and themes. Merge Hyperthermophile into Thermophile (for the title, but the content of the first article should be kept, being more qualitative). Rationale: hyperthermophiles are juste a peculiar case of thermophiles, and the content of the article "hyperthermophile" could perfectly fit as a paragraph in the article "thermophile" (the latter article even has an intermediate category "extreme thermophiles", which understandably has no separate article). 176.159.12.72 (talk) 20:18, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Tenshi Hinanawi, Hello, I noticed you reverted the merge of Abortion in Egypt, citing that no content was merged. However, the content is already present (same or similar) in Abortion under Egyptian law, and the consensus at the Talk page was to merge and redirect.

The merge discussion is closed, and the result was to merge the two, as noted by multiple editors. Let me know if you believe some unique content was omitted, happy to review that. Otherwise, I’ll proceed with restoring the merge.
