Talk:Joan Crawford

Birth year as "190?" is non-standard (per MOS), possibly confusing and/or ambiguous; it should be changed to "circa 1904" or equivalent. — Avelludo (Talk / Contribs / Log) 15:01, 24 August 2025 (UTC)

Talk:Elizabeth II

We have existing consensus to change the lead image; however, the previous discussion on what the new image should be was scuppered by copyright concerns.

Should File:Queen Elizabeth II March 2015.jpg (right) be used as the lead image, or something else? If you have an alternate suggestion of a good-quality image without copyright concerns, please add it to the bulleted list below.

Talk:Lady Gaga

I let the discussion cool off for a bit as it was getting heated and thought of the best possible compromise that still stays within WP:NPOV. This is my proposed neutral solution, in broad terms:
Lady Gaga performed a free concert at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, which became the most-attended concert by a female artist with an estimated audience of over 2.1 million people.[a]

Talk:Silverchair

What genre, post-grunge or baroque pop, is more appropriate in the band's infobox, as discussed in Talk:Silverchair#Post-grunge and baroque pop and the recent edits? Both genres have the same amount of sources, but the former is more associated with the band's early work, while the latter is more associated with the band's later work. Talk:Star Trek: Section 31

The lede of the article currently states that “Most critics gave it a negative review, with multiple finding it to be the worst entry in the Star Trek franchise.” There has been some contention about whether this is appropriate or accurate for the lede of the article, but discussion on the talk page ended with no clear resolution. Seeking a broader idea of what is appropriate here. I would also like a consensus to exist next time someone tries to make a change in either direction; I am not referring to the issue of whether the phrase should be in the article at all, here, though that is another relevant question. Talk:Alternative for Germany

Do the highest-quality reliable sources best describe a völkisch nationalist party that has an ethno-cultural definition of Germanness, a relatively mainstream right-wing populist and national conservative party analogous to Reform UK, or a neo-fascist party that should be described similar to Die Heimat? There is little controversy over the inclusion of euroscepticism. The results of this RFC will therefore not indicate support for removal for it.
  1. Völkisch nationalist
  2. Neo-fascist
  3. Conservative and right-wing populist
  4. Combination of these options

Talk:Syrian Social Nationalist Party

Sorry for the poor title, its the best i could think of and have no issue with someone making a better one.

IP 69.156.104.108 and me + JJNITO are at an impasse regarding 3 sources used for the claim in the ideology section in the infobox that the SSNP adheres to fascist ideology. I removed 3 sources used in the section because I believe they did not actually adquietly explain why they are fascist and merely used it a pejorative term and/or just as a truism, you can see my arguments above.

I cannot convince 69.156.104.108 that the sources are flawed and they are stating that I am Sealioning and missunderstanding what makes something a reliable source. this argument has gone in circle for days and we need an outside opinion. AssanEcho (talk) 22:06, 8 August 2025 (UTC)

Talk:Reform UK

Can we include the following paragraph on the page?

"On 4 June 2024, it was reported by the website DeSmog that Reform UK had accepted "more than £2.3 million from oil and gas interests, highly polluting industries, and climate science deniers since December 2019".[11]"

Talk:Western Sahara

Should the lead provide context that states have rescinded their recognition of the SADR? Possible wordings with/without context include:
  • Option A: The Polisario Front is primarily supported by Algeria and has won formal recognition for the SADR from 46 UN member states and South Ossetia, and membership in the African Union.
  • Option B: The Polisario Front is primarily supported by Algeria has won formal recognition for the SADR from 84 UN member states and membership in the African Union.
  • Option C: The Polisario Front is primarily supported by Algeria and has won limited international recognition for the SADR and membership in the African Union.
  • Option D: The Polisario Front is primarily supported by Algeria and has won formal recognition for the SADR from 84 UN member states—38 of which have cancelled, frozen, or suspended their recognition—and membership in the African Union.

Talk:July 2025 Central Texas floods

Version A [1], While additional funding was made available for the county through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, it was not used for flood warning and monitoring systems. It is unclear whether county officials were aware they could have used the funding for upgrades to their flood warning system. The area is very conservative politically, and many residents were opposed to using the funds for anything at all. Source.

Version B [2] While additional funding was made available for the county through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, it was not used for flood warning and monitoring systems. At the time, some residents were opposed to using the funds for anything as they opposed the requirements attached to federal funds. It is unclear whether county officials were aware they could have used the funding for such upgrades.Source

Questions in dispute are

1) Should this mention political conservatism?

2) Should it include It is unclear whether county officials were aware they could have used the funding for upgrades to their flood warning system.

3) Is "some residents" or "many residents" more accurate.

4) Should it mention requirements attached to federal funds. Geogene (talk) 15:30, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
