Sean Connery accent

Is there actually a specific part of Edinburgh (any more?) where all the men, women and children have that same accent as Sean?

Was talking to a friend of mine from Glasgow who said he's never heard another Scottish person who sounds like that in his life, but that he's not been everywhere.
