Believe user is using sockpuppet accounts, such as the above IP address, to engage in edit wars and vandalism resulting in 3R bans and verbal abuse directed at other users, on a number of music related articles. The use of condescending language attacking other editors over sources aroused my suspicion. HelenWatt (talk) 06:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
NB: Another user has also cited this address as being suspected of being used by User:CHawke. HelenWatt (talk) 08:11, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Clerk note: Can you please provide some diffs to support your request? Examples of some of the disruptions, abuse, and so on would be appreciated. Stifle (talk) 16:40, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- I shall compile a list shortly for you. The User:CHawke allegations were based on similar edits in the Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd article over sales figures (eg. removing them), and the same language eg. "A publicist is the LEAST reliable source" (the EXACT same words in both summaries) said by both CHawke [1] and User:74.77.222.188 [2] although I should add, another user had suggested that connection. In the meantime I would like to add User:Led zeppelin033 to the above list of suspected sock puppets. This user has suddenly appeared from nowhere, on the Led Zeppelin Talk page. Uses the same language accusing editors of being "fans" of the band and emphasising words such "FACT". See [3] and User:74.77.222.188 [4]. HelenWatt (talk) 23:51, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Additional information needed Defintely need more information here. This looks like a list of people whose edits you don't like. Some more substantial evidence of disruptive behavior is needed. Thatcher 01:45, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thatcher, were you not involved in the Killian Documents dispute, which also coincidently involved User:74.77.222.188 ?? If so, I wish to request an admin other than Thatcher investigate.
Hoponpop69 was previously busted for using sockpuppets before, see:
Compare the comments and actions of User:74.77.222.188 with the following:
- Bringing up RIAA as a source:
Arguments/edits over sales figures and their sources. The language used is very similar.
The allegations of plagiarism dispute (see discussion above):
Note that when Hoponpop69 was found guilty of being a sockpuppeteer, the evidence used aginst him included edits made by User:68.114.92.198. Note that user was also adding the disputed plagiarism section in question to the article:
The evidence above from the known sockpuppet of Hoponpop69 is compelling.
Comments targeting bands such as Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, eg:
Use of keyword emphasis such as "fact" and truth" (see discussion above), eg:
Fixated with sources he only agrees with (to numerous to list but here's a perfect example)

- Helen, about 18 months ago I largely rewrote both Killian documents articles, but it was not a dispute, it was very collegial and collaborative. SInce then I have pretty much ignored it. That really has no bearing on whether or not you have presented a strong enough case to check this user's IP addresses under the privacy policy. Thatcher 23:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
