Suspected sockpuppets

User:CIS has been campaigning to remove BCE/CE notation from Wikipedia for over 6 years. He has been blocked for this a number of times, and in 2006 was found to have used several sockpuppets for this purpose (see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Jordain). He continued using sockpuppets to edit-war on this topic in 2007, and was blocked for it twice, the second time (by me) for six months. Upon returning from that block, he created yet another sock, Steven Evens (talk · contribs), using it for the same purpose, which went undetected until approximately a week ago. Upon discovery, I blocked him permanently. After CIS was banned, he appealed, had his appeals turned down, and vowed to return. Now 86.10.164.130 (talk) has shown up, and continued edit-warring on the same topic. It's also likely that CIS had other socks besides Steven Evens, as he had in the past. I'd appreciate a CU on User:CIS to see if this IP is him, and to discover any other accounts he might be using. Jayjg (talk) 18:29, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The IP is in a similar range to the one used by CIS in the past (86.10.164.130). The account's second edit was to remove the sock tag from user:AssegaiAli, one of CIS's socks. There are stylistic similarities between the edit summaries of AssegaiAli and those of 7903xc. Dianna (talk) 05:49, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note:I have blocked the IP address for 31 hours for vandalism to Template:James Cameron films; feel free to extend the block w/o consulting me if the checking admin here thinks the SPI has merit. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:21, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
