User:MThekkumthala is currently blocked for one month for edit warring on Dravidian people. User:SpacemanSpiff has said on my talk page that xe is fairly certain that this is an incarnation of User:Kalarimaster, a sockmaster with a dozen or so confirmed socks. That editors actions, unfortunately, date back before my time, and there are so many different socks that I'm having difficulty isolating enough to form a solid connection. Spacemanspiff mentioned that we need to specifically look not at the master's behavior, as that was more of a good hand account, but at the behavior of the socks. The best evidence that I see is that Spacemanspiff pointed out that the MThekkumthala account was registered on the very day of the expiration of a 1 year hardblock of one of a static IP Kalarimaster had used for socking. Plus, there is an overlap, though not necessarily an identical set, of interest in topics relating to the Dravidian people and related languages. In part, I'm opening this SPI because I'm hoping that at least one of the socks (see Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Kalarimaster and Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Kalarimaster) might be non-stale so that a checkuser will be fruitful. I'm unclear if long term socking provides an exception to the rule on linking IPs to named accounts; if it does, then it would be helpful to know if MThekkumthala is on the same IP that was hardblocked because of Kalarimaster. - I'm fairly certain it's him, Elockid and Tnxman have blocked the main IP before (as have I) and he also has access to another range that geolocates to the same area, and the behavior is DUCKy to say the least. Also there are a couple of SPIs related to this somewhere (I don't remember the exact ___location off-hand, but they're under some other accounts before they were connected to the real master). Stopthenonsense is one account where the behavior and POV are quite similar. Also, it's quite likely there's another account too as he often works with a pair of accounts (except when he was using Wangond and another account last year). —SpacemanSpiff 13:59, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Just for the record: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Stopthenonsense is one of the related SPIs. —SpacemanSpiff 14:09, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Kalarimaster is an indefinitely blocked sockmaster who has been interested in articles related to Dravidians. Two of his sockpuppets, MThekkumthala and Neutralpointofyou, have been pushing a specific POV with regards to ANI/ASI and Indo-Aryan migration debates at Genetics and archaeogenetics of South Asia and Indo-Aryan migration: [1][2][3][4]. It is curious that Āryāvastra, in a total of 52 edits, has found his way to both of these articles and is pushing similar POV.
There are other similarities between MThekkumthala and Āryāvastra:
- Mthekkumthala tried to push a study in previous discussions on Talk:Genetics and archaeogenetics of South Asia,[5] which was shot down by other editors. Āryāvastra began his edits on the same talk page with the exact same study.[6] Even the quote chosen and the way in which the study was presented were exactly similar. Subsequently, Āryāvastra went around replacing references in other articles with this study.[7][8][9]
- Mthekkumthala and Āryāvastra both refer to editors with differing views as Hindutvadis/followers of Hindutva (notorious Hindutva followers, vandalized by Hindutvadis) and their edits as vandalism (sneaky vandalism, mass vandalism).
Please also check for sleepers, Kalarimaster has been known for using them in the past. Dravidianhero's recent removal of content in Dravidian peoples[10] is suspiciously similar to that by Ancienzus[11] and MThekkumthala[12] both of which are sockpuppets of Kalarimaster. edit- No sleepers, and any checkuser data is Stale – CheckUser doesn't store information longer than three months. Behavioral evidence seems sound though, if another administrator wants to block based on that (leaving open for confirmation). NW (Talk) 09:28, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Clerk note: Based on the behavioral evidence, I've blocked the sock indefinitely. Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:36, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
